As a newbie I'm gaining info daily to help my experience with my new car. I have used a small high pressure washer to blast off Upstate NY mud they call grit. Any comments on using one? Everything I saw or read here points to hand washing, foam guns etc.
I ordered soap and the gun and a micro-fiber mit. Just seems with some foam first I could get alot of stuff off before using the mit. What are the negatives of using a touchless car wash with high pressure nozzles?
Thanks.

it should work well for you, however when you spray the foam, you still need to scrub! if your using a good MF mit [eg Cobra] , they will work for ya, just wash them after EVERY use..

Enjoy the foam :D

Thanks. Got it. How about the pressure washer? Any thing bad?

Pressure washers are fine. In fact, most professional detailers all use pressure washers. I will be purchasing a small 1400PSI Karcher Pressure washer soon. Should work very well for my mobile business, even though I plan on using 4n1 mostly.

As far as the touchless washes. Again, the pressure washers are fine, it's the soaps/detergents they use. They are very harsh and will virtually elminate ANY LSP you may have. If you need to do something like this, go to a self serve wash, power spray your vehicle, and then go home and do a rinseless wash.
