I am looking for recommendations on a pressure washer short gun.

FWIW, there is no -short gun- avail. It's just been made into a fad marketing name. I've been using 1/4 connectors on pressure washer tips for at least a decade +Interchange them on longer wands, etc.

The short gun is literally a standard PW gun with a nozzle/PW tip with no wand on it, fwiw.

I have 2 Ridge washers I've had good luck with....

I purchased the Harbor Freight model back in the spring and it’s worked out great. At $25 it’s a steal.

You’re not making any sense. 1st of all, there’s a bunch of short guns available for purchase.

2nd. He’s interested in a short gun, so why advise him to connect nozzles on a longer wand?

The wands that come with power washers twist to connect to the gun, so you can’t just eliminate the wand and connect nozzle tips to the stubby that they come with.
[at least that’s how the Ryobi works]

Anyways… I have the Yamatic stainless steel gun with swivel. I paid $35 but I just noticed that it’s on sale for $50 right now and that’s a bit high tbo.

The main thing you want to look for is that it’s stainless steel and that it has a swivel [even though the swivel action almost never actually helps during use]

This PWACCS gun is on sale right now for only $20 and checks all the boxes.

I have both Mosmatic and MTM short guns. They might look similar, but the finer details separate them.

The Mosmatic has a more switch-like trigger, the MTM has a more progressive trigger and is probably preferable for most users as it requires less effort to activate, this would be especially important if you have arthritis. The MTM has marginally bigger footprint than the slimmer Mosmatic. The biggest difference with the specific Mosmatic I have is the live swivel integrated into the body of the gun. This might sound like a minor thing, but it helps reduce bulk at the connection and helps with overall usability.

The thing is, that particular Mosmatic is significantly more expensive than the MTM SGS 28. That doesn't make it significantly better. For that reason, I would recommend the SGS 28, and most people would prefer the smoother progressive trigger feel.

Just be careful when shopping as not all of the MTM guns are created equal, even if they look the same or use similar model name. For example, there are SG 28 and SG 35, both of those lack the live swivel at the inlet. Some companies buy the bare SG 28 without fittings and then fit non-MTM swivel and fittings, bringing the cost down. The one you want though is the SGS 28, which is the grey one with the MTM fittings and MTM swivel already installed.

I just noticed they have this adapter if you’re using a Karcher. Only $8

My pressure washer, a Kranzle (built like a tank), has a pistol that has a molded handle that extends a good foot beyond what a short gun would. You then add another couple of feet for the detachable lance.

I want to be able to get into wheel wells better.

Amazon seems to be pushing this now after I was searching amazon.

PS - Isn't YT funny that you have to watch at least 5 seconds of a commercial to watch the commercial you want to see....

I spent time watching youtube videos. The key aspects seem to be handle feel/trigger and the swivel design (how far it sticks out and swivel ease) under pressure.

I am probably going go with the MTM gun/foam cannon combo since it is about $108 on amazon and it is not a Black Friday deal.

I see - you're talking about having a gun with a built in barrel/wand/etc on it.....which is quite long

I don't go to AmazonMart for guns. I tend to stick to commercial spec MTM, Suttner, Mosmatic, etc...
Haven't pulled up the specs on the short body gun, but visually it looks to be about 1 1/2 - 2" shorter ? Not sure how that applies in real world use.....

As far as usability or ease of use....I'd say make sure you have a good swivel on the end of the gun and you should be good.
PW *hose* does make a slight difference in overall use, due to the weight of the hose or how much pliable it is.
PW is in the garage but I prefer to wash outside...so 50 ft 3/8 hose is used.
A 1/4 hose is significantly lighter and does make it a bit more enjoyable to use, due to the overall lighter apparatus.

I presume you have a M22 thread on the Kranzle
Get yourself a M22-3/8 adapter and stick with the standard 3/8-1/4 fittings that is the common standard for PW fittings
..

If you're going the MTM route, I highly recommend going with the SGS28 over the SG28. Difference being the SGS28 has a swivel and stainless steel fittings and the SG28 has no swivel and brass fittings.

As mentioned in my previous post, just make sure it's the SGS28 and not the non-swivel SG28. I would also make sure it's the updated PF22.2 with the wide mouth bottle for easier filling. Although, even if it's the older bottle, you can easily retrofit the new wide-mouth bottle and adaptor plate.

I'm gonna get a pair of the retrofit sets for my PF22.2's sometime this winter. I looking forward to the weighted down-tube. I try to only put in what I think I'll use, since the soaps don't "suds" as well if they've set in the container more than a couple days. I will be able to really dial it in with the weighted down-tube.

Take a look at the regular Mosmatic gun the NEO HP gun with swivel 29.132, it cheaper than the OG spec one. The difference is the swivel is not recessed into the body like the OG. I bought the standard Mosmatic from Carzilla for $99 this summer. I think most swivels feel about the same when there is no pressure in the line but I think the Mosmatic swivel is better when the line is under pressure.

Having used MTM and Mosmatic back-to-back, the Mosmatic swivel works much better, but its not a deal breaker.

The original Mosmatic is very similar to the SGS28 with the external swivel. The original still has the switch-like trigger compared to the more progressive release on the MTM.

When MTM launched the new bottle and adaptor, they copped a lot of flak for it supposedly being a half assed job. Personally, I think what they did was quite smart as it addressed a major flaw in the previous model, as in the narrow bottle opening, but it also allowed existing customers to upgrade their older foam cannons. It can also be used to upgrade a non-MTM foam cannon.

Some of the early reviews complained about the bayonet style attachment between the bottle and cannon adaptor. However, it's actually really convenient compared to winding in and out a threaded connection and eliminates the possibility of cross threading. Some also complained that the adaptor plate would unwind from the foam cannon body, but I've been running three of these setups and have not had this problem.

If you grip the cannon like this, you wont have issues with the threads loosening...........................

As you can see, I upgraded an older foam cannon...............................

I think what separates the MTM foam cannon is how it uses less soap solution per vehicle, without compromising foam quality. That non-MTM foam cannon above riffles through soap at a much higher rate.

The Mosmatic does not come with any fittings so posting a picture with cheap fittings is a bit misleading.
I put the MTM Prima fittings on mine

That depends on who you buy it from, some will send them out with fittings already installed. You can certainly buy both Mosmatic and MTM guns completely bare, as in no fittings installed. I generally recommend just paying the extra to get one with fittings already installed, in most cases, those will have been installed with Loctite rather than thread tape to ensure a better seal.
