I take my car to a detail shop where they wash the car for me. However, in between car washes, I often have to remove bugs and bird droppings. I have Opti coat on my paint. Which option below is recommended for removing bugs?
MF towel with ONR
I have been using a MF towel and some ONR to remove the bugs. It has been working effectively for me. But it can be time consuming at times and tiring especially if I have left the bugs for a week at which point they are that much harder to remove.
Pressure Washer
I found a local self service car wash that offers mutiple services.
It offers:
-pre soak (low pressure gun)
-soap (high pressure gun)
-rinse (high pressure gun)
-spot free rinse (low pressure gun)
-dry blower
I used the "rinse" high pressure the other day to remove bugs and I did not dry the car. It left water spots of course. Another mistake I made (after reading some threads here) is that I put the hose too close to the paint because some hardened bugs were not coming off from a distance. I'm not sure if the "spot free rinse" is any good.
Now, if I actually had to do a full car wash at the self service shop, which services should I use from those listed above? Could I mix my ONR solution somewhere? I'm concerned as to the quality of the "soap" service. Would I need any drying MF towels if I can use the air blower? Or is an air blower not recommended? Could the air blower damage the paint somehow?
Thanks all for any suggestions.
