I have an MTM foam cannon. What do I want for a pressure washer. PSI and GPM? I want to have that nice thick shaving cream foam.

Thanks

Both. But dilution ratio (amount of soap) matters more. And of course the setting on the cannon.

OP, what are you looking to spend on this? Don't intend this to be a hijack, but do any of you have experience with the pressure washer sold at most Costco's? Its called simpson I think, and is rated at 1700 psi. Another pressure washer thread recommended to buy this one for the Costco warranty because they will take it back when it breaks, "and it will break" to quote the earlier post. If OP is looking for something in a more serious price range, like a gas model, then ignore my post, I'll start another thread about the Costco.

I am thinking gas so i can wash the house and other chores. I am looking to spend around 400. So what are the magic numbers 2500 psi and 2.5 gmp ok?

That is more than enough this is with a 1900 psi max 1450 regular 2.1 electric and some HDSF not at that high of a dilution:

I have checked the Costco web page and did not see an electric pressure washer. There are definitely some benefits for using electric. They are quieter and easier to move around easier to store.

On the down side they do not look to be handy around the house unless you have some real light cleaning to do.

I have not found an electric on with much over a 1.8 gpm and according to the MTM directions that's the minimum.
(I noticed the directions after I posted my question.)

Sorry I was wrong on the gpm of mine its only 1.5gpm and it works fine with the cannon and I know other people that get by with less. I couldn't stand a gas one myself.. But good luck in your search post some pics up when you get it set up. I'm sure with more power it would foam even more but what difference is it really going to make??

Costco one is in store. My local stores usually have them. The wand end has a metal quick disconnect that looks like the standard fitting on a foam cannon, not a plastic end like on some that may need an adapter of some sort to use the cannon

Any idea what the gmp and psi is on the Costco unit?
Maybe I need 2 one of the house one for the car?

Don't know for sure but I have to go to costco tomorrow and I'll check.

The costco unit, IIRC, is like 1.3 GPM. I bought a cheap one from harbor freight, 1600psi, 1.5 GPM which was on sale for 79.99 and I used an additional 20% off coupon. Replace the gun and hose, they absolutely suck. Lowe's has a great little hose, gun, wand package for $30 that has a fitting which will work with the MTM gun out of the box.

The Home Depot Clean Force 1800 is good and works with the MTM. Buy the extended warranty though, it'll come in handy.
