I just bought a Prius Prime (plug-in hybrid) and I want to add some paint protection to the charging door. It is similar to the fuel door on the other side of the car except it is push-to-open and secured requiring key fob present to open. The door requires a push to open and a push to close and the spring loaded damper is quite stiff so the push is quite firm. I can see my fingerprints already boring into the wax. I'm trying to figure out if PPP or transparent scuff plate tape or something else would be OK for this application. I have some transparent scuff plate tape coming this week for the bottom door jams. The claim is that this tape is removable.
I could PPP the entire door or put a piece of 2"x2" transparent tape where the fingerprints are collecting.
Any particular brands and types of product recommendations would be very helpful.
I just feel like I need some sort of protection because whatever collects on the surface and the oils in my finger cannot be good for the paint as-is.
