Detailer's Pride products are taking up more room on my shelf. The manufacturer claims that this product, DP Wheel Glaze repels brake dust. After my first use, I can safely claim that this product will also not collect shelf dust either.
DP Wheel Glaze is a cleaner and a polymer sealant that removes contamination from the wheel surface and creates a shiny protective coating.
My neighbor takes good care of his vehicles. This Subaru Tribeca stays clean all the time but he's been looking for something to make wheel upkeep an easier task. The goal is to apply DP Wheel Glaze at least monthly (the directions say weekly), and maintain clean dust free wheels without using any harsh cleaners. The next time he washes, he'll simply wash the wheels with soap and water. We'll also take note of how effective a jet stream of water cleans up the wheels. In my past experience with wheel sealants, it seems heat is the main culprit of the lifespan of a wheel sealant.
As the directions stated, DP Wheel Glaze was applied in a thin layer using a foam applicator pad (same pads I use with WOWO sealants). The glaze was allowed to haze up which only took 3-4 minutes. The glaze was then buffed off using a Cobra Gold Plush MF towel. The results were as expected-The gloss was evident even at a distance. The finish was slick and clean. Neither of us were very dizzy after repeatedly smelling the product. Mmmmmm...grape bazooka? Grape Now&Later?
Initial impression-Anyone who enjoys keeping wheels looking great or has wheels that get really caked up with brake dust (BMW, MB, Ford SUV's etc) would certainly benefit from using this product.
I'll report back later after a wash and see if this saves any backaches. I also plan to apply the DP Wheel Glaze to my GTI's 18" Huf wheels over the Holiday weekend. I'll try to snap some before and afters for that process as well.
mmmm, gooey grape goodness...
purple haze
$10 microfibers for wheels? heck yeah!
Done. Nice and Glossy!
For the price, ease of use, little goes a long way, there's no question that this is a fair price to keep your ride's wheels looking great and more importantly keep them safe from harmful contaminants. So far, DP American Care Care products have not dissapointed me.:xyxthumbs:
