Meguiars Bug Splatter Sponges, meguiars bug and tar remover, bug sponge
Remove bug remains before they damage your paint!
Safely remove baked on bug splatter off virtually every exterior surface of your vehicle in minutes with Meguiars Bug Splatter Sponges! By removing bug remains shortly after contact, you preserve your vehicle’s delicate clear coat finish and eliminate the risk of etching or staining. Meguiars Bug Splatter Sponges are double sided (foam/terry) sponges that remove bug residue without scratching or marring even the softest paint systems.
Bugs are acidic and if not immediately removed after contact occurs, they can etch or stain your vehicle’s finish. Having a protective layer of wax provides you with more time to remove the bug splatter, but it’s not a guaranteed way of preventing etching or staining from occurring. Meguiars Bug Splatter Sponges are individually packaged so you can keep a handful at home and a couple in your glove box for safe measure when you travel.
Removing fresh bug splatter is easy, but doing so without scratching your vehicle’s finish is not so easy. There are a million and one ways to remove bugs the wrong way, but very few ways of removing bugs the right way. Meguiars takes the guess work out of properly removing bug splatter with Bug Splatter Sponges.
Meguiars Bug Splatter Sponges work great for rinseless and waterless car washes! Simply rub the bug-infested area in a gentle, circular pattern and wipe away the bug remains. Removing bug splatter has never been quicker or easier thanks to Meguiars Bug Splatter Sponges!
5 individual packets per box.
I wanted to do a review of these as I havent seen one done.
First off I want to say I am a big waterless wash junkie and wanted something that I could incorporate into my regime that wouldnt call for a hose to wash off such as some of the spray on type cleaners need.
I tried these out on my wifes wagon which we have driven probably 500 miles through desert to see Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire State Park, and out to the winery in Pahrump. We all know how it goes for running highway speeds for extended periods of time will turn the front of your vehicle into a bug catcher.
Now with the car having gone that distance and accumulating a week and half of dirt and grime the car was pretty dirty. I pre soaked the front bumper cover heavily with Meguiar's RFEW in a spray bottle diluted 1oz to 32oz rinseless wash. This is more than enough to breakdown the surface and lubricate the front end.
The sponges are two sided with a nap on one side and the regular sponge and the other. The side with the nap is for scrubbing and the other side is for the final pass.
For anyone that is a waterless or rinseless wash junkie I recommend these sponges.
Pinnacle Waterless Wash was used and the the washing agent and was wipe downed with Pinnacle Crystal Mist.
Please bear with me on the picture quality until I get a new camera and feedback welcome.
