Products for maintaining Optimum Gloss Coat

ONR with Opti-Seal or Optimum Car Wax are good options. Optimum Hyper Seal but it's not sold through here. Was designed as part of optimums coating maintenance line.

What would you recommend to wash and also what detail spray to restore some shine?

You can use any shampoo that leaves nothing behind on the surface such as CarPro Reset, Optimum car Wash, Meguiar's Hyper Wash. I would recommend looking into ONR (Optimum No rinse) as it works well with Gloss Coat and using Opti-Seal, Optimum Car Wax or Hyper Seal as drying aid.

For a detail spray CarPRo Ech2o and Optimum Instant Detailer work well with Gloss Coat.

I'd stick to the optimum maintenance line and keep the synergy going.

I agree. Their stuff works well together.

Thanks so much! Great information to know!

I'll go a different direction with this:
Gyeon Cure--OK to cut it @ 30% with distilled water water to avoid streaks. It is an SIO2 coating Maintenance product. I use it at least once a month after washes. Makes the coating be like new.
CarPro Reload- same / similar to as Gyeon Cure
There are other coating maintenance products as well, but the ones I listed are the ones sold here.
Note: these are not cleaner products. These are used after a wash to refresh an SIO2 coating.

Opt Hyper Seal has SiO2 in it according to Yvan at Optimum.

Would McKee’s 37 Xtreme foam formula work good for washing the Gloss Coat? Or does the soap leave anything behind to hinder the appearance of the coating?

I am not aware of that leaving anything behind but I find maintaining OPT coatings with OPT products seems to work the best for me. This is just my preference though and you may find something just as good by experimenting. I can say the Hyper Seal is great stuff. Think of it as Opti-Seal on steroids. You use very little just like Opti-Seal.

It has been a hybrid of SiC and SiO2 for quite some time now.

Oh ok. Thank you

I did find out that Gloss Coat was updated with new resins a few months back.

Hope it’s more durable now. That is gloss coats weak point.

Ain’t that the truth, I used to like the old OptiCoat 2.0 and tried the GlossCoat and on 2 cars I didn’t even get 8 months out of it. Around that time there was a whole bunch of changes going on at Optimum at that time both on the retail and professional sides and I started looking at different brands. Still love me some Hyper Polish and ONR though

Did you prep with Hyper Polish? lol Just curious because that apparently makes a difference per OPT.

Per OPT it has added ceramic polymers providing greater scratch, UV, chemical resistance, along with increased release properties.

Looks like you have interest in the GC, just a heads up that on GC and even the older OptiCoat if you feel resistance while pushing the thumb bar down while wetting your applicator I have had it gush out on me numerous times. I think there was a proper way to get around that somewhere here
