Obviously in cold weather the many of the products we use, e.g. 845, 105, and 205 are not going to be as fluid. So sometimes I'll use the microwave to heat them up. Today I found out something that did not work.

I needed to repair a couple of deep scratches on my '06 Tacoma and I did not bring the touch-up paint in the house last night so it would flow better today. No problem. Microwave to the rescue. 3 seconds later, well just look at the picture below.

A couple of positives out of this. First, I found out what could not be heated in a microwave and secondly, the microwave got detailed so it's cleaner than it's been in a while.

LOL. Plus of course anything with metals, no matter how small is really hard on a microwave and will most likely cause permanent damage to it.

For something like the paint, probably 10-15 minutes in a warm glass of water should do the trick.

Thanks for the reminder about metals. Hot/warm water would have been better in this case. Never thought of that.

Ever tried heating up hard boiled eggs in the microwave?

You can make hard boiled eggs in the microwave. You just have to know how to do it. Pretty easy and simple actually, scrambled eggs too

CD's are much more interesting to microwave. You get a good light show, a bad smell, and no mess to clean up.

:wow:

I'm finding that it's becoming extremely difficult to believe, at times,
what people will do...because they act, or choose, freely.

Free will isn't always what it's 'cracked-up' to be, IMHO!!

What does work very well in a microwave is clay. It softens it up and makes it very pliable, and less likely to mar.

I'm so confused by this why would you ever put any detailing products in the microwave ever :(

Yeah this!

Funny this reminded me of something that happened to a guy I worked with back in the early 80's. You know when that was right? That was when Richard Pryor went running down the street with his face burned off after catching it on fire freebasing. I was working in a grocery store at the time and the produce manager was lets just say, a big fan of his, and walking the walk with Richard Pryor. ;) He had this thing where he'd mix a little white powder, a little baking soda, put it in a vial, put that vial on the stove in a pot with a couple inches of boiling water and end up with a little rock in the vial.

So one day he was in a hurry and decided to dump ½ a g of said powder in his vial, in dumped the baking soda, then rather than wait on water to come up to temp he put it in a microwave. Turned the power down to nil, hit the 'cook' button and POOF it all vaporized at once! ROTFLMAO!

Dude was LICKING the inside of his microwave for 20 minutes! OMG!!!!!!! (He quit that habit shortly after that.)

Now you just need to put a bar of of soap in the microwave, I suggest a soap with a nicer smell. Lots of fun with that one!
