Hi,
I have a 2013 Civc EX, in the Crimson Pearl color, which is a darker, burgundy red which
is just 3 months old. Unfortunately, due to sloppy and poor dealer prep, I have some VERY
light spider webbing/surface scratches on some panels, most notably so on the trunk lid
and front hood. These are very light and really only noticeable to me and someone who
is a detailer. You really can only see them in bright sunlight...but they are there and they are
bugging me!
I am planning on have the car professionally machine polished and sealed(maybe even
Opti-Coat) in the early spring. But in the meantime, I would like to try to at least soften
up or lighten up some of the spider webbbing, I will try the trunk lid first.
I picked up a bottle of the Meguairs Scratch X 2.0 and I would like to know the proper
technique to BOTH apply and remove, by the HAND method. I will use a new terry cloth applicator pad, but do I apply it in the back and forth motion, or circular motion with
lots of pressure?
Also, once applied, how long do I let it sit on the paint before removing and what is the best method to remove for maximum effect??
I just received the Auto Geek Super Plush Lavender Microfiber Towels that I guess I will
use to remove/polish?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
