Hello Mike and everyone,

I apologize if this has been covered before, but I cannot find it.

What is the proper way to use a spur for cleaning pads?
Maybe I am just dense and it should be common sense on how to do, but I am just not sure on the correct way.

Thanks

Sorry I missed this...

IF you're talking about how to use a steel spur to clean a wool pad on a rotary buffer than the way I like to do it is the way seen below from last year's Advanced Class and that is to lodge the back of your rotary buffer against your thigh and then draw the spur across the face of the wool buffing pad after you've brought-up the RPM's of the rotary buffer. Just stay to the right hand side of the center of the pad when doing this.

You would do this with any of these spurs... of course the orange and black handle spurs are for foam pads.

Some people like to rest the back of the rotary buffer against the ground and that works too, I just don't like to bend over that far or squat.

Does that help?
