Hello Everyone,

I have joined a few weeks and I am new at this. I would greatly appreciate if you could tell me what brand is the best for vinyl seats (Synthetic Leather MB-TEX). Price does not matter, just want a good product.

Thank you in advance!

I'm using 303 Aerospace Protectant and am very happy.

303 is good but my personal fave is 5:1 CarPro PERL. 3 years of applying to our Pilot and the "pleather" seats are actually still supple. Also provides just the right amount of slide to get in and out without going too crazy.

I much prefer the interior sealants (not dressings). I use Wolfgang's sealant.
What needs to be said about sealants is that they generally last a lot longer than a dressing.

Ultima Interior Guard Plus & Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant seem to get a lot of good press. Plus you can use them to protect the plastic as well.

First of all I thank you all for your input as it is very beneficial.

Expdetailing as you mentioned that you prefer the wolfgang sealant. I have one other question. What is the difference between interior sealant and interior protectant?

Once again I thank you all for your input.

Happy Detailing!!!
Chris

My opinion is that a "protectant" could also be a dressing, but not a true sealant. In other words, dressings are sometimes called a protectant, which they are for a shorter period of time. The Wolfgang interior sealant that I use, IMO, is superior to any high-end dressing that I have used, and I've used a lot. Wolfgang sealant comes in smaller sizes, as well as larger sizes, however one might think that a smaller bottle would get used-up in no-time. This is not the case; I believe, a smaller bottle of sealant is equal to two full-size bottles of any "dressing" or "protectant."
Maybe someone can chime in if you know of a protectant that could be considered a sealant.
One last thing, I will NEVER buy another dressing as long as there is a sealant being sold. Sealants will be the death of dressings if only enough people knew, IMO.

Expdetailing,

Thank you for your quick response. I have one other question in reference to a vinyl rubber leather cleaner. Is it okay to use the wolfgang leather cleaner? If not, what do you recommend.

One other question what cleaner do you use on plastic?
In reference to protecting plastic I am assuming the wolfgang interior sealant will do the job.

Thjanks again,
Chris

For clear plastic, I wouldn't use any sealant. For all other plastic, I would use the Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant. You can use it on your leather too.
You only stated what material your seats were made of and not how dirty they are, so I will give you a wide explanation to how I clean leather seats. I start with the least aggressive method, if that does not work, I take it up a notch untill I see my desired results.
Starting out, leather cleaner is safe, of course. If that didn't work, I would try dilluted alll purpose cleaner. I have even needed to use dilluted heavy degreaser before. Scrubbing with a softer brush after you spray the coated leather works wonders. Often, when you lift dirt out of coated leather, it comes out a little at a time, so miltiple applications probably will be required. On lighter colors when the dirt lifts, you may see some lightening of the color and confuse this with lightly bleaching the surface.
Just ensure even coverage and thorough effort and you'll be fine. If you use ant thing other than a leather cleaner, perform a final wipe-down with water and dry before applying a sealant.
