I've been creeping the forum for a few weeks now and I finally have time to order my 7424xp. I'm somewhat new at detailing, especially with the da.

My paint is pretty good but is showing swirls on the hood and trunk at 120k miles.

What do you guys recommend for a first autogeek order? I'm looking to spend 250-300 and I already have the following in my cart

What's the best bang for buck polish and what else should I get? I have a few different waxes and I get a free sample of the wolfgang uber compound.

I would get more towels and probably start with meguiars ultimate polish and see how that does with the light swirls. Don't forget to clay first though.

They don't discount any DA kits. Figured that out last week

I personally would look into getting the Griots. It offers a little more power which can be very useful

a lot more towels, iron x, clay or clay substitute, clay lube. I would order FG400 compound and Optimum Hyper polish. Both very user friendly. The Hyper Polish is very versatile. I have a PC. It was my first machine and has been good, if I had to do it over again I would go with the GG.
I don't know how many pads you are getting but I would get at least four of each.

personally, i would rather just buy everything separate so I know exactly what I want and will use. AG is always having sales and i'm sure there is one right around the corner..

p.s. opt for the GG6 instead, it's only a $10 difference which is worth it for the extra torque/power & warranty. you'll be glad you did...

Depending on how many cars your taking care of you might look at the Flex instead of the PC. The Flex probably reduced my correction time in half. IMHO the extra power also helps you do a better job overall. At a minimum get the Griots Garage 6" DA instead of the PC.

Ok I'll take the advice on the GG. What about a sealer? I have dark grey metallic paint. Any suggestions?

I use Menzerna Power Lock Sealant. It's a quality product and gives great results.

Megs 105/205 or Ultimate Compound and Polish, and some XMT360 for the AIO.

Menzerna PL is good. Wolfgang gloss sealant is also a great option.
