Hey guys, I was planning on using CG Hybrid V7 on top of Zymol Glasur but I am slightly concerned about the cleaning agents in V7 impairing Glasur. I have Megs UQW which I think might be a better topper than V7. Should I leave V7 to be used as a sealant only, or am I worrying to much?

Welcome to autogeek ...I would just use the meguiars cause to me its a waste to top a wax with a sealant cause the sealant will not last long cause its bonded to the wax and not the paintwork

IMO, it's really up to you. UQW will work fine, but I use V7 just as a quick touch-up for gloss and slickness after adding any wax/sealant. This also helps me discover/remove any additional wax residue that I could have possibly missed or not removed entirely.

I use Zymol Titanium and have had very nice results with Chemical Guys P40 Quick Detailer. P40 is carnauba based and it is designed to not strip or remove wax or sealants. It can be diluted as well which makes it very coast effective.

I spray it on the car at full strength after I wash the car, but before drying it. This helps to lubricate/shine the surface while drying the car. For spot cleaning and touch ups I dilute it with distilled water, 1 part P40 and 2 parts distilled water.

A word of caution I find that this product will streak if it has not been diluted. That being said a dry plush micro fiber takes care of the streaking with no issues.

To your original question I actually looked at using the CG Hybrid V7 on my car, but decided against it as while I was less concerned about it removing the wax I was more worried about it causing issues with future coats of Zymol bonding to the paint.

I just started using Duragloss Aquawax to maintain the shine and protection.
You can use it as a drying aid to help dry your car and at the same time it gives you protection and shine.

It works very well after applying a wax or sealant, once cured mist a little of the AW and gently wipe then buff, doesn't get any easier than that.
It leaves the paint super slick too.

Oh, it's also cheaper than the UQW or UQD and works much better IMO:)
A must have product.

It's not the cleaners you need to worry about - although "cleaners" may be responsible. V7 seems to mute beading and dull sheeting. I'm not sure if it's a function of alcohol or something else in V7 removing the wax, or if it leaves a film on the wax.

Check out Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer or Dodo Juices Red Mist Tropical. Or , check out Zymol's Field Glaze for that matter.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and suggestions.

In general, would you say that using QDs do not negatively affect a carnauba wax layer?

Sounds like using V7 to help with drying and as a sealant is a good way to go. I plan on picking up Megs #21 as a dedicated sealant once I run out.

I have been hearing a lot of good things lately about that Duragloss Aquawax. It is so reasonably priced I think I am going to have to try that next.

NO DON'T DO IT YOUR CAR WILL CATCH ON FIRE!

*whew*, sorry.. you should be fine :) sound advice above.

I've been thinking about this lately, because it's not what I'm seeing the past 10 days.

It's been raining on and off. While the beading isn't tight, it's not what I was expecting after hearing complaints of its behavior.

I snapped a pic my roof, but can't seems find the usb at the moment. I'll post it up later.
