Hello, im pretty new to car detailing so please excuse my nooby question :p. Is it okay to use Crystal Mist Detail Spray before I wax my car? The reason I ask this is because my paint looks really dull. Is using CM a bad Idea before waxing or will it not make any difference? Is it a better idea to stick with just using the paintwork cleansing lotion prior to waxing? Cheers

hey, Sloobertooth! Welcome to AG online!:welcome:

To answer your question, I will say that if your paint is dull, consider using painwork cleansing lotion prior to wax. A clay bar might be necessary too with a proper clay lube. Keep in mind that depending on your paint condition, you might even need to polish your paint with a machine.

Good luck.

Crystal Mist is a wax/sealant ENHANCER. You would get no benefit from using it first.

If the paints in ok condition, polish it first.......then wax........then maintain with Crystal Mist.

If the paints in bad condition (you can feel grit in the paint after washing), clay it, compound it, polish it, wax/seal it, THEN maintain it with Crystal Mist.

Hope this helps.

I would also remind that CM is now (new version) simply a quick detailers with a bit of gloss enhancer. The Souveran Spray Wax is the replacement and can be used alone or over waxes and sealants. As Justin has offered, you will always have limited success with any product prior to properly prepping the surface. Wash -- Clay -- Polish -- then Protect !

the coconut oils in crystal mist wrap them self around any remaning dirt partical left behind after washing. lifting them away safely with out scratching or marring the paint. leaving protection and gloss enhansers behind to feed the paint and also nurish the paint.making the reflection bounce off the coconut oils and leaving a flawless just waxed look!!!!:Ddam that sounded good:D are there any job openings in the marketing dept at a/g?:D

Thanks for the great responses! :) That answered my question. For now, I will use the paint cleanser, then clay it, then use the paste wax. I am not too comfortable polishing my car yet because I am worried my inexperience would potentially make my paint in worse condition then it is in, so ill hold off on that for now :)

Concur then Sloobertooth. I'd do them in reverse order Clay-Paintwork Cleansing-Wax.

and:welcome:
