Question about pad usage and the flex 3401 vrg hd

I have a variety ok lake country kompressor

Hydro tech

Andaguiars soft buff

My question:
I was using the Meg's yellow polishing 8 inch soft pad today with Meg's Dual action cleaner polish. After competing about 5 sections the pad wore down and fell apart. I was only putting about 15 pounds of pressure like mike says in all his flex and PC videos. Is this pad too aggressive for this machine ?

Anything over 7" is to big. The 7" soft buff 2.0 is the limit IMO.

Also will 105 remove sever paint defects.

I think even those pads are too big.

And yes 105 will remove moderate to severe defects.
