I just got my PC 7424 XP. It came with 3 orange pads and 1 white pad that's already permanently attached to a disk. Why is it permanently attached and what is the white pad used for? Also it also came with a thick plastic washer, where is this washer supposed to go?

dont use the white pad that came with the pc attached to the backing plate. on ur car. its good to use on alot of other things just not ur car... the plastic washer you put on your backing plate. so when u apply pressure the backing plate wont rub against the machine. hope this helps

Throw the white pad in the trash! Don't forget the washer, it makes a world of difference. I was too excited to try the thing out I didn't research it until later, what difference with the 6.5" pads I ordered.

The washer is to be use all the time when you screw in the backing plate on the 7424XP. Now the white foam pad that came with you unit, can be use but I would say only use it with a bonnet for remover of wax or sealants. P.S. don't throw it away, if you don't use it then sell it on Ebay. Some folks out there use it all the time.
