Question for the Guru's

I posted some pics of my Black Toyota Tacoma where I had polished it with HD Speed and then topped with a coat of Collinite 845. Since then , it's rained a few times and I applied a couple different quick detailers to keep her clean and shining. Here is my question. I want to add another coat of the Collinite 845. Does it need it , Not really. But I got some new pads that I want to try out and I had the intentions of adding another coat anyway. Will putting another coat of the 845 on top of the quick detailer be an issue?
 
Go with your heart. I won't hurt anything and if it makes you feel better then just do it. I wax my Jeep all the time just to relax myself.
 
If you applied it the first time really good then I don't think you will benefit from it.But if you want to top it over the quick detailer shouldn't be a promblem.If any thing the collinite will cancel out your quick detailer due to the solvents in 845.

not likely as most "detail sprays" will remove easily. if you notice it smears or doesn't wipe away clean, leaves traces of product, etc. it could be reactiing or not bonding to what lies under it. not likely in this case but it could happen depending on what is under it.

Putting another coat of 845 would be redundant as the second will remove most of the first as GSKR pointed out. However, it would be beneficial if you missed some areas the first time around.

Of course though, what protection does one get from a Detailer Spray? Virtually nothing at all.

Another coat of collinite would be like wiping the slate clean, for some fresh "real" protection.
 
I wouldn't say it would be a issue unless the car had dirt on then waxed lol.
Wax/coatings/sealants are always great.

You guys need to check your data before you go spread misinformation. A "solvent" doesn't automatically mean "strip". I posted this 3 years ago when the same topic came up. I figure this year alone maybe 4-5 "subject-matter experts" talked about the solvents as if they knew better than the source.

Don't believe this info? Fine, then hopefully you will perform some tests on your own or call Collinite. Enjoy the day!
 
I politely disagree.I simply said if anything the collinite will void out the many spraywaxes he used.I didn't say it would remove the base.Dont believe manufacturing comments all the time.By experience and thousands of cars polished waxed etc you will see weird stuff happen.
 
I've read the email you provided from collinite.He starts off by saying I don't believe you should have to worry.To me that's a guess word.just because they make it deosnt mean they have applied it to thousands of other products in conjunction with collinite.Ive seen it happen countless times 845 removing different spray waxes and boosters.
 
Thanks for the replies everyone . As I said, I want to try out some new pads and throw another coat of 845 on. It seams most agree that it should not be a problem as lone as the truck is clean. If it reacts bad, I'll just strip it and start over. Thanks for the help. :)
 
No need to strip just stack it you will be fine.people tend to over think things it's car wax.coatings on the other hand is a different level flash times curing prepping dictates the outcome of your hard work.
