So as some may have read I used this on the XLR I just detailed but I was wondering about the last step in the process which is the Finishing Wax.

I wanted to put Blacklight and BFMS on the car but I figured if I used the Finishing Wax, a sealant over a wax wouldn't be a good idea. I used an IPA after doing the Finishing Wax stage since I thought it might have some mild abrading along with it, but I wanted a clean surface for the BL.

Do you think in the future I can skip the Finishing Wax step and maybe use a different final polish if I want to go with a sealant and different wax?

Thanks,
Chris

From my understanding of Blacklight, it has light abrasives in it. So if you applied it over the Finishing Wax it would have most likely been removed and you would have no problems.

But as you mentioned, it would be easier to use a finishing polish instead of the Finishing Wax if you plan on applying other sealants or waxes.

Personally, I would rather use a finishing polish than the polish/wax so I could be sure the paint is bare following a Dawn wash.
