Question on PFM Towel Size

So I've done some searches (perhaps not well) but haven't found what I was looking for sooooo . . . asking here. Figured I'd like to try my hand at the PFM towels that consistently get solid reviews around here. I have a ton of towels, mostly TRC and AF, so while I don't *need* more since when has that stopped anyone (at least on this forum)? When I look at the PFM *drying* towels at GG I really only see two options: huge (PFM Terry Weave Drying Towel #55590, 25" x 35") and huger (Extra Large PFM Drying Towel #55596, 29" x 36").

Does that sound right? I imagine I could adapt my process to this, don't currently use the "matador" method but I imagine for my primary vehicle - '23 Bronco 2dr, what I'd consider a small SUV - it could work for the hood flat-out and folded over for the rest of the panels. Currently I'm using 16" x 16" TRC Eagles with diluted Ech20 sprayed as a drying aid/gloss putter-on-'er.

Assuming the two I listed *are* the primary go-to drying PFM towels other than size and edge vs edgeless is there anything else of note between the two?

I have two of the 28x20's previously cited. They work well with a small SUV when I do a contact wash outside .. but I found them a bit too much when doing rinseless inside. For that I use some that resemble the PFMs but were sized around 16x16 Griot's #55586
 
TRC and AF also have twisted-loop towels, perhaps their sizes work out better for you.

I use the 16x16 PFMs as well. After blow drying there isn't much water left on my little focus. I stocked up on them when pep boys were selling them individually for less than $5 a pop.

Yeah that is weird. I think they no longer make that size/color which is why it is no longer on their official website. Autogeek has that particular towel for 19.99 for what its worth.

Oh snap, thanks! Of course now AG isn't accepting my PW for my account (been a while, but I still get occasional email ads) and reset pw doesn't yield an email in my inbox. Patience, patience, I'll wait until the LSU/USC game halftime to see what comes before I create a new account. I have a few I use on glass, they are lighter weight, and stay with the large silver color PFM for sheet metal. The mint edge model was sold in an auto supply chain, now Amazon & The Geek

I use the 16x16's as well. Less opportunity for them to touch the ground than the bigger towels. Same GSM as the PFM drying towels.
 
I’m surprised you use Eagle towels to dry your vehicle. They seem undersized for that task.
 
"Geek" has a sale going on the "mint" edged PFM at $17 (with 15%). The regular black edged PFM is at $33.96 (with 15%). 2 of each makes prepaid!

For full on drying I have TRC Gauntlet towels but for the specific use cases I was interested in here - mop-up after touchless drive through or indoor RW - I prefer the smaller form factor. There's really not a ton of liquid to absorb in either case, at least in my particular situations, and I find the larger towels awkward for that use (especially in my underground garage space). That's why I was asking about smaller PFM options and do appreciate the feedback I received.

In that case get a 4pk. of Griots PFM’s. You’ll love them.
 
I have two the original (?) 25x35" inch ones and I really like them. They are large enough you can spread them out and do a good portion of a hood or roof in one pass, which I really like. When doing doors or other smaller areas I either fold them once or simply hold the access area in one hand while drying with the other. This allows me to rotate the towel and never have an area that's too wet.

I wouldn't mind them being a bit smaller for a job like my little car, but when doing the wife's SUV the extra real estate comes in handy.
 
PFMs for surface drying. I use thin waffle weaves for door jams where I can stick one over a finger and dry deep back in around hinges etc.
