Questions about Poorboys Polish with sealant

I've had very good results with the Polish with sealant and since it is far between the full detail jobs, it is the go to product for me.

I've read that the expected longevity of the protection is about two to three months, but on the other hand, if you work it the protection properties are reduced.
Can I still expect the same protection with three - pass sections, or is this too much to have any protection left on the paint?

I'm wondering if a microfiber pad would be good with the PwS. It would probably increase the cutting ability without sacrificing gloss (for most, gloss is more important than defect-free), but how about protection? If I can't have decent protection, I can just as well use Pro Polish (2) with a dedicated wax or sealant afterwards.

Does PwS need to be wiped off immediately?
To increase productivity, I often find that the wiping part interrupt the workflow. The ideal would be to just go around the car in one "pass" with just adding product when needed and cleaning the pad on the fly. Then wipe the whole car.

Any thoughts?
 
It's a quick good alternative product if you have limited time .
 
I have been doing some research lately on PoorBoy's Polish with Sealant because in the past I had heard great things about it as an AIO. However, my recent research has found that the protection only last 2-3 months when I expected it to be longer with the previous praises about the product.

Unless someone can point me to posts where the indicated protection of polish w/sealant is much greater I'll be buying Duragloss 105 with its polishing ability and its long lasting protection of nearly a year that many people say they get from it.
 
I only was able to get about two months out of the product during the summer. I found no difference in durability whether I left it before buffing or buffing it out right away.

Since you are in Norway, and we're going into the winter, I can't imagine the product having much of a chance in that climate.
 
I always tell the car owner to put on a new coat of wax in two months or try to sell a second coat of a decent sealant or wax right away.
Two months is acceptable for an inexpensive AIO job, I am just curious as to whether I can expect these two months when I have to work the product a bit. And whether my usual three passes actually is working it hard, or if that is the normal way.

I'll start a test on my work car one of these days and let it go for six months in normal winter use in Norway.
I'll wash it at work with industrial strength foam and pressure washer.
 
I would not worry about testing for six months and using industrial strength foam.
The product is a polish with sealant.
One step, if you like to have more protection?
You need to polish and then apply sealant of your choice.
 
I am thinking more than I am writing..
I know that the PwS won't last through the whole winter, but if I top it with a good sealant or wax, it might.
I'll throw in a section with just the PwS to see how long it will last.

It really is a different thread, but I've ordered a bottle of EX-P and some MF pads and I'll be testing the following combinations :

Poorboys Polish with Sealant, poorboys Nattys blue
Poorboys Polish with Sealant, Poorboys EX-P
Poorboys world Pro polish 2, Collinite 845, Collinite 915
Meguiars M205, Meguiars M21, Meguiars M26

There are plenty of other products, many are not available OTC in Norway, so I'll stick with the ones I have.
 
I used the EX-P/Natty's Blue or Red combination for a lot of years. Never was much of a fan of AIO's. I like applying a sealant in the fall, & topping it off with wax. The, as winter progresses, throw a coat of wax on every month or so.
 
I agree with you on this.
The thing about winter in Norway is that it is almost impossible to wax anything. Either it is raining, snowing or ice cold.. That is why I'm trying so hard to find a combination that will last for six months.
 
And I understand now that have let this stray off the intended path.. (Note to self : concentrate on work, not forum..)

Those of you who are experiencing two months longevity, did you just spread by hand, or did you work it to some extent?

Nobody have used PwS with MF pads?

I have had good durability with PwS and two layers of Collinite 845. 5-6 months on a daily driver. It is such an easy mini detail.
 
It seems not many have tried the PwS on MF pads and since longevity for LSP can vary, I had to do a test on my own.
I sectioned off the hood and the roof of my '94 Volvo 850 that I use for work and decided to test four different combinations of polish and wax.
The combinations are 1. PwS only. 2 PwS topped with EX-P. 3. Pro polish 2 topped with 845 and 915. 4. 205 topped with m21 and m26.
Use MF to work the PwS is brilliant.
I decided in advance to do three pass sections with all polishes.
What strikes me immediately is how fast and easy PwS is to work. The combination with MF pads gives a very fine glossy finish and I probably could do with only two passes and be finished.
The second thing is that PP2 is harder to wipe off than 205, but I'll try to be quicker to wipe it off the next time.

The main goal is to find a combination that will last through the winter, so I didn't concentrate on swirl removal, but the paint had that glassy look from a worked finish, so my guess is that a fair amount of swirls are gone.
