quick connects for different backing plates?

I'm sure the adapter is still available but it is just for Edge 2000 and some 3M pads. I have this system both for my rotary and DA polishers and it works well with the Edge 2000 pads. I have the 8", 6" and 4" pads. A DA will beat the 4" pads to death before finishing one paint correction but they last a while on the rotary polisher. I prefer the 6" DA Edge 2000 pads on my Makita over the 8" pads for rotary use.

I think it would be nice to see a system of hook and loop backing plates in differing sizes offered for this adapter but don't see it happening. The Edge 2000 pad / adapter system seemingly didn't go over so well though I really like mine.
