Is there any advantage or disadvantage to use a damp microfiber towel when using a quick detailer or Spray Wax?

Advantage: None that I can think of.

Disadvantage: A damp microfiber will exponentially increase the likelihood of streaking.

:iagree: IF you need to dampen if for whatever reason dampen it with the QD or spray wax. If it's water you pick up from cracks/crevices after a wash then it probably won't hurt anything. It will probably streak more and the water dilutes the QD / Spray wax making it less effective.

^^This^^

QD's are already "diluted" for use straight out of the bottle.

A wet (or dampened with water) towel would just make the QD a smear-fest IMO.
