CG Glossworkz Glaze (applied on silver TSX)

Ordered this due to hype I've been reading about it. Also, since I love collecting products, why not. Product comes in similar standard bottles that CG uses. It was light blue in color, with a smell I'd distinctly characterize as laundry detergent???

I washed Tori, then a mild clay. Applied GWG via blue pad, speed 2 on PC. After removal, I pulled it out into the sun to inspect. Overall, I didn't notice any difference from EZ Creme :( I had very few minor marring that I haven't had the chance to correct yet... the cover up it provided was very minimal at best. I'm not saying it's a BAD product, because I LOVE EZ Creme and Blacklight... but I'd say, it was similar in performance to EZ Creme, but blacklight is slicker for sure. Looks wise, hard to tell. Would I use it again? hmmm not sure. Maybe. I ended up putting a coat of blacklight afterwards, then jet seal, then 5050.

Would I recommend the product... eh.... I'd go with Blacklight. It lasts longer, slicker, and I think looks better.

PRO's:
cost
fresh smell
applies easy/removes easy
some swirl filling abilities

CON's:
why use this when you can use blacklight? or EZ creme?
durability (obviously it's a glaze)

4Star UPP (applied on Kona Blue 5.0)

Why am I reviewing such an old product? Well... I ordered this a couple years ago, when I had a black G35 and and black Altima. I loved it then, but put it aside when I got rid of both vehicles. I ended up using it on my black Odyssey...loved it so much (Again), that I decided to use it on Marilyn's Dark Kona Blue paint. Boy was I glad I did. I forgot how much I love this sealant. My plan was to top it off with Souveran or Fuzion... but it looked so good on its own, I haven't touched it yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Anyways...Marilyn was washed this morning at 6am... then spot clayed. Applied 4Star after. Let sit for 30 minutes, then removed.

It goes on as easy as any other sealant, maybe a bit runnier (make sure you shake really well). Removes easily as well. The only con I would say is it was dustier (not saying a lot, but compared to other sealants) than JetSeal, my other favorite sealant. It was really slick tho...slickest sealant I've used imo. The best part is the look. On dark paints, it just blows it out of the park. 4Star remains one of my favorite sealants.

I can't speak to durability on either since I don't let my LSP's go that long before stripping and reapplying.

PRO's:
slick
easy to apply and remove
unbeatable on black and other dark colors

CON's:
dust :(

Thanks for the review. I would try applying the Glossworks Glaze on speed 4.

^ I agree. Try speed 4 or 5.. it will remove very light swirls and filling in great.

Interesting... I have never applied glazes at speeds higher than 3. I will try this next.

So, have either of you used EZ Creme or Blacklight before? How would you compare GWG to EZ or BL in terms of looks?

I Have all of them. GWG replace EZ Creme it fills way better. I have been been following CWG with Blacklight. I just did a car today that was trashed and i was happy with the results. Will post write up tomorrow

I have EZ Creme Glaze. Fills good for me and love the look it leaves behind. Looking to try Glossworks soon.

the silver car looks so sharp. Are those pictures modified at all ?

and or course you keep that mustang looking amazing. I'm not a big fan of the way they option the new american cars. I'm more of a european car fan, but I really like the color and the wheel choice from the OEM on that Mustang. It looks incredible and for sure a car I would pay for.

Very nice reviews!! :props:

While I've yet to try Glossworkz I have the Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection. I like this sealant and everything you mention is spot on. Goes on easy, buffs off nicely, and leaves a super shinny gloss behind...:props:

Glossworkz needs to be applied at high speed like 5 or 6 as it has to be worked into the paint to be effective. BL and EZ are not really known as filling glazes. Glossworkz fills much better than either. BL, EZ, and Glossworkz are different and you can't compare them equally because they are each used for different results. Apples and oranges.

Ah I see. I will have to give gwg another shot then. Problem is, I hardly have any swirls, so not sure what gwg is buying me compared to blacklight. I was hoping for a more wet look, but I didn't notice any big difference if at all. Usually I can tell. For example, the 4star upp looked better on my kona than jet seal did...

But yes pls post pics of your gwg work.

Thanks bobby. But did you notice dust residue on 4star too? Hopefully I'm not doing anything wrong on application or removal... I wouldn't think so but.....

Hey silver...

Thx for heads up. You're 3rd person to say higher speed. I will try that next time. Then just make passes till it dries?

Also how about overall look, tho? Since that's what I'm really after. Doesn't look any better than ez or bl?

The best wet, deep look I've seen with any Glaze is Wet Glaze 2.0. Words are hard to describe it but it's in class by itself in my opinion in terms of looks and slickness. Doesn't fill or polish or clean or seal but is only for getting that "pop" we all want. It's acrylic and doesn't wash off like other glazes. Can be applied under or on top of any LSP or applied alone for a show car look.

It's a cg product? I will have to try this.

Thanks for the reviews, I enjoyed reading them!

And damn... that Mustang looks absolutely beautiful. I'm always thinking of adding the 4 stars sealant to my orders, but I already have WGDGPS, Jetseal, and Ultima Paint Guard Plus. Until those run over (guessing in a very long time from now), I'll give it a try :)

Thx mc... Yeah I'd recommend not waiting till you finish your other LSPs :). Life's too short. I will never finish one bottle of any of my LSPs...lol. Besides its not too expensive :)

I see no appreciable dusting when using UPP, and its so easy to apply thin and even because of its design. Are you using the newer version that was polycharged ???

Glossworkz with a grey pad and a PC on four filled like crazy when I used it.

Hi Scott...

I just looked at the bottle and it says polycharged on it. So I'm assuming I have the latest.

But like I said, the dusting is no big deal. Just more of a nuisance.

Scott, what do you usually top your UPP with? I'm thinking about going 2 coats of souveran today...what you think.

Glossworkz with a grey pad and a PC on four filled like crazy when I used it.

I will have to try that again. But does it LOOK any wetter or better than ez or blacklight?

As was mentioned, Wet Glaze 2.0 is a great glaze...under or over any LSP (wax or sealant)...no cleaners. Google it. It's not a CG product.

I have not seen much filling with Glossworkz Glaze, but maybe I did not work it into the paint enough and at a high enough speed. Thanks for that tip..

Great review. UPP is such an underrated sealant. It has been one of my favs for years.
