Race Care Tire Rubber Removal

Does anyone have any experience removing tire rubber from a race car off the paint and wheel wells?

I've had some lighter stuff on other cars come off easily with a Nanoskin pad, but this time the rubber is really thick and heavy.

I use this, works very well on paint, never tried it on wheel wells.

I have not used it myself. But the product has been stuck in my mind LOL. Mothers R3 Racing Rubber Remover. That could be an option maybe. But you maybe need it in a gallon LOL.

Is the wheel wells painted without any underbody spray? Then a tar remover would work I think. We have something called Cold Degreaser that is based on petroleum of some kind. Kerosene or painters thinner or mineral spirits. Used on the rims it desolves both tar and rubber and that residue from brake pads. One that would definitely desolve it would be 3M general purpose adisive cleaner. They have the spray can here on AGO but there is in bulk too.

Automotive strength Goof Off followed by glass cleaner did the trick!

I'll keep the other options in hand for future use.

Just about any light compound will work, a good cleaner wax will work. This is what I use on wrapped cars to get “skid marks”
