So I just got half my floor put in and first impression is it looks amazing... Second impression: I've nearly killed myself several times. These tiles are so slick when wet that it's hard to stand still. Anyone else have this issue?

They get filthy. I have my guys steam the tiles every few days.

It is possible that the skivvy on the
tile-style, may not always hold true:

-The "Free-Flow" design is supposed to
have very good anti-slip surfaces.

-The "Coined" design is the one that
can sometimes be very slippery.

Huh, I've heard that they're a very popular choice for detail shops, so that's quite surprising. Maybe it's got a coating or something that will wear off after a few days or weeks. Stay safe man!

I'm guessing maybe a mold release agent is still on them, hopefully time or a good cleaning will get this resolved for you

I am sure you have already thought of this but contact the seller/manufacturer

Im sure its just a coating/mold release. Steam them and apc them and should be good!

Just finished the rest of the floor, I think I'll put some 100 grit sandpaper on my flex and scuff the whole floor.

I would talk to the racedeck support folks before sanding if you can wait. The floor could have mold release agent causing the extra slick problem.

Interested to here the results on how the slipperiness issue is taken care of. Shop looks awesome BTW!

Called Race Deck yesterday and they said no one has ever mentioned anything about slipperiness. I was blown away by their answer. I love the look of the tiles but a nice floor is not worth the risk of injury. I'll call them again Monday and see if I can get someone more knowledgeable on the product. Honestly I'm surprised there hasn't been a lawsuit filed with how long these have been around.

The floor looks great!! I have a Race Deck floor and I will mop the whole floor with all purpose cleaner and warm water and I have never noticed it being very slippery even when it is wet.
