Long-time client brought his rare Tambora Flame LR2 in for a thorough paint correction and permanent coating with Opti-Coat Pro. There was extensive water spot etching throughout and required nearly 3 days to restore to new.

This little Land Rover sees more time off road than most lifted pickups and SUVs as the owners frequent Land Rover special off-roading events as well as enthusiast off-roading trips. There was mud in just about every nook and cranny....took quite a while to clean it up. Suffice it to say, this was no "mall crawler".

These water spots would not wipe off. All the glass required extensive polishing to remove the etching

Thanks for looking!

Very, very nice! What did you use on the glass to polish off the water spots?

D300 with MF pad?

I'm about to do similar work on glass tomorrow, I'm backed up with Pinnacle, but they are so hard water spots that I'm feeling a second option would be good.

Have you polished sides/corner of glass by hand? I have difficult fitting machine there.

Sorry for changing the answer order!

Great topic! You only notice how big this car is when you go over it with a polisher. However, they are so sturdy and beautiful that it's a pleasure to work on.

I don't particularly like orange cars, but I must admit that one fitted nice. And just detailed like you let it, looks incredible.

Thanks for sharing.

Kind Regards.

Also curious on what pad you used with D300 on glass?

Those are some hardcore water spots. The results overall look stunning. Well done!!

MF cutting disc on the GG 6". Have done it with the Rupes too, but I get better results with the GG on glass. Use compressed air to blow it out after every section. Also fully prep it too and use the occasional spritz of DI water. Moderate pressure and speed 2.5-3.5 nothing higher than that. Where the polisher won't fit, just do the same by hand.

Thanks a lot, and again, congratulations on your work.

I'll be doing some glass polish in ~7 hours, your feedback was very handy.

Kind Regards.

Glad to be of help! One of the few times I'm on the comp long enough to see and address questions.
