Hey guys,

So i've been using Optimum Opti-seal but its becoming hard to find in Australia. So i'm now looking for a replacement product thats just as good or better for around the same price.

The car gets parked outside under full sunlight so my main priority is a sealant which offers great protection and long lasting and if possible a mirror affect like Opti - Seal offers. But my main concern is to get something with the best protection, anything else is just a bonus.

I know theres heaps of Sealants out there but its hard to know which is good and which is bad. Chemical brothers Jet seal but don't know how this compares.

Thanks guys for all the help

IMO These are the following Sealants I would look into or choose:

Menzerna Powerlock
Wolfgang Sealant
Blackfire Sealant
Duragloss Sealant

IMO you can't go wrong with any of them.

Here's a few of my good-quality-Sealant suggestions:

•DP Poli-Coat Paint Sealant

•Dura Gloss 111 Clear Coat Polish
-(used in conjunction with Dura Gloss 601 Bonding Agent)

•Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze
-(use in conjunction with Klasse AIO)

•Meguiars #21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0

•Menzerna Protect Sealing Wax
•Menzerna Power Lock

•Poly-Lack Nano Clean+ AIO

•Poorboys EX Sealant

•Scholl Concepts W6+ Premium Liquid Wax
•Scholl Concepts W9 Carnauba Polish Wax

•Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

I pretty sure Garry Dean has stuff in AU. Check out the Infinite Diamond Shield (IDS) if you want a coating - 2yrs. Or the Infinite Boost Juice if you just want a sealant - 6 months.

Menzerna offers Power Lock which is an awesome sealant -4/6months.

Thanks for the suggestions i'll have a look into them !

Then get a coating instead of a Sealant.

I've been quoted nearly $1,000 for a coating which I can't really afford, so i'd rather get a high quality sealant and wax on top.

The cars been parked outside for the past 5 years and the paint is still in good condition ( some swirls) with no fading or anything.

Would the sealants recommended here be better than Opti seal ?

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant 3.0(My Favorite)

Chemical Guys Jet Seal

Meguiars Mirror Glaze #21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0

I highlighted what I took as your main concerns.

First, I'm under the impression that you'd do this yourself, right?
If so,
A Coating will last much longer ( "with proper care") than a Sealant. Say a year or two vs a few months.

Second, there are many coatings that don't cost anything close to $1000.
CQUK is one example of many, & it's about $50.

I don't wanna sway you from Sealants, but based on your demands/desires I recommended a coating.

If you wanna stick with A sealant, see what the guys in Florida or Arizona would recommend as their environments are kinda similar to your's.

I agree with Bob on these. I will add Meguiar's Ultimate Wax to this list.

Four Starr UPP, Wolfgang, Blackfire or Menzerna are all great sealants. Cannot go wrong with any of them.

Going to a pro detailer, wash, decon, clay, 3 step polish and coating....$1000.00 sounds about right....IMO

That pro detailer would be soon:
Out of Business...in my neck-of-the-woods.
True story.

Well, saw this:

My favorites:

Duragloss 111, 101
Surf City Garage Nano Seal
Meguiar's Ultimate Wax
Meguiar's #20 Polymer Sealant

These are just my opinions based on what I've used. Out of all of them Duragloss 111 is the one that impressed me the most.

Honorable mention goes to Meguiar's NXT 2.0. It's really easy to apply, and looks great. Seems like it doesn't last all that long though, based on the reviews. However in my experience it works just fine.

Menzerna Powerlock, followed closely by Wolfgang DGPS 3.0.

I use power lock is wipes off so easy and it is super smooth. I used jet seal its not to bad its a little thick and dose go no as well as power lock it kinda tacky when you are applying it.
