First post, gonna keep things nice and simple. Im looking for a strong but paint safe degreaser for exterior use to become my go-to product. Been leaning towards Megs Super Degreaser but want to hear everyone's suggestions on what works for them.

Optimum Power Clean is by far the best Degreaser I've use. Super Degreaser is okay on dirt but not the best for actually degreasing, breaking down tar, removing nasty tire shine, etc. Super Degreaser is also pretty safe for most exterior & interior surfaces since it is known for not leaving any chalky residue like some Alkaline degreaser. Also, IMO it's really not effective enough as a degreaser to really cause much damage. The only damage you need to worry about with D108 is the effects of such a hot corrosive and harsh chemical on your skin and your respiratory system.

Also, I've tried several time to attain SDS sheets for Mckee's 37 APC+ because it's my favorite APC/degreaser but I've been turned down every time and was told "everything I need to know about the product is on the bottle"

Chemical Guys Grime Reaper works the best for me. Megs Super Degreaser is the most economical.

I like Megs. Mos cost effective.

Hmm, seems like everyone has a different preference when it comes to degreasers/apc. I like d108 for being so economical. I'm sure there are much better offerings out there, but at some point the law of diminishing return comes into play. Now if there are any cleaners out there that are as strong or stronger and not as harsh i could justify the extra expense. Prolonged exposure to hot chems is no bueno. Anyone have any experience on the safety of the above products?

Meguiar’s D108 contains Potassium
Hydroxide, and has a pH of 13.5.

Editorial:
Now I don’t know about everyone else,
but I consider that to be a “hot chem”.

Just because a product is deemed to be
economical, doesn’t always equate to it
being “safe”.

3D Orange 88 Citrus Degreaser or similar "citrus" APCs if you want to degrease.

I've never been all that impressed by general APCs when it comes to real degreasing.

If you want an extreme degreaser/tar remover that is not petroleum based, use a concentrated citrus solvent.

Citrus APCs contain a very small percent of D-Limonene because they reduce foaming even at very small concentrations. Citrus solvent products are highly concentrated and act very similar to strong petroleum solvents.

Sounds like I'm definitely looking for a citrus based degreaser.

I'm not foolish enough to think any one degreaser is going to be 100% safe, however I'm sure some are "safer" than others.

Orange 88 sounds rather promising, and for under 20 a gallon it really can't hurt to try some unless it's near lethal. 303 looks like it doesn't come in gallon bottles which for me is a deal breaker.

Lots of great info so far, let's keep it coming! Appreciate everyones wisdom.

Inside- Megs D101
Outside- CG Grime Reaper

Both at 1:4.

The Grime Reaper cleans up sooty chrome tailpipes nicely with a tooth brush. Slight foaming action depending on the sprayer you use also.

Agree on both accounts. I have used the Megs Super and liked it a tiny bit more then the Grime Reaper. Once my Reaper is out, the Megs is in.

3D Orange Degreaser can be used inside and outside with different dilutions.

Yes, 3D orange degreaser is great for prespotting carpet stains. It also works well on heavily neglected leather. The best aspect of 3D orange degreaser is its effectiveness at higher dilution ratios and pleasant citrus scent. If you are looking for an economical degreaser like super degreaser that is a safer option, 3D orange degreaser certainly fits the bill!

LATA. All sorts of dilutions and costs 1 dollar in most cases

The 3D is great stuff I have a gallon. This is also an excellent citrus based product, I got it on bogo:

I'm curious how this is possible. Clearly there is something to hide.

Umm yeah. Denying a customer access to a SDS for a product they sell. I'd be sending that APC right back for a refund.
If you happen to own a shop that uses "said product" you have to by law have SDS sheets available to your employees for information regarding, PPE, emergency first aid and health risks of "said product".

My favorite APC's Optimum Power Clean is by far the best I ever used. It's pricey but the range of uses is insane. I can go from engine bay to interior plastics to leather seating without having to change dilution ratios. It's gentle but cleans like crazy. Still the only APC I ever used that would take black shoe scuff marks out of light plastic interior trims and does it without scrubbing.
CG Grime Reaper for the exterior junk work it's awesome on tires, wheel wells, cleaning trim, and under body cleaning. Good dilution ratio for the price. Does a nice job on engines too.
Then for all my presoak of towels and pads it's my good old does everything well not insanely harsh Purple Power. I use it for everything. at $11 a gallon on sale it's my go to. I would let it see a car but it leaves chalky residue on black plastics but for everything else not attached to a car it really is great stuff.

Purple Power is lye so be sure to use gloves. It will peel your skin especially concentrated.
