I am looking for a QD that does not streak, cleans a bit and is really slick.

I have usde Meguiars (all of them), Zainos, and 425. All ok, nothing great.

Any recommendation for somthing that will not break the bank. Maybe event something that can be purchased by the Galln.

Thanks

Try Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer. Neither Optimum No Rinse nor Ultima Waterless Wash+ are considered quick detailers.

+1 on the Optimum No Rinse. Its greatbecause you can use it as the wash, QD, and clay lube. I love that stuff.

Anybody compared the performance of Ultima waterless and/or Optimum NR to Optimum Instant Detailer first-hand?

Obviously, the products are marketed more as rinseless/waterless wash concentrates but I can tell you they work extremely well as money saving detail spray formulations. I've never used opt instant detailer and I probably won't buy it because I'm happy with the other two mentioned products which are more concentrated.

Ditto on the ONR or DP Rinseless. You can mix them as wash, QD or clay lube. I use DP since I got it BOGO. I've been very happy with it - compares very favorably to the Adams QD a friend gave me to try.

Therein lies the debate...on one hand, products like ONR or DP Rinseless Wash & Gloss (which I prefer) used as quick detailers VS dedicated quick detailer products.

In my view, the rinseless wash products give you better cleaning and lubricating qualities (making them somewhat "safer" to use), and the dedicated quick detailer products produce a better gloss and shine...at least that has been my experience using both types.

Ultima Waterless Wash Plus

Optimum Opti-Clean

FK-425 for a straight body shine spray without the cleaning

To be fair I haven't tried the DP waterless yet. I gotta get to that!

:iagree:
If you are going to use your QD to remove light dust from the paint I would go with Ultima Waterless Wash Plus, Otimum Opti Clean or a similar type product. They will provide aditional protection against marring over a standard QD product.

I have a gallon of FK 425 to use up but when it is gone, I will go with one the products listed instead.

I was told to use a waterless wash with some QD mixed in.

I would really recommend the Pinnacle Crystal Mist. And it could be bought by the gallon. Kind of steep price if bought in a 16oz bottle but it's "only" 80$ for a gallon which is 10$ per bottle. It's a great bargain when bought per gallon.

It does not have the greatest cleaning ability but works great on light dust and does not streak on dark paint and leaves a bright gloss and a slick finish.

My favorite detailer is the Meguiars Final Inspection when it comes to surface prep but if you are looking for something slick and glossy I think the Pinnacle Crystal Mist is as good as it could get.

k425 is under $30 a gallon. Pinnacle cannot be that better.

I never tried the K425. For sure Crystal Mist is not 2.5x better than the K425 but get a Crystal Mist free sample next time you order something so you could try it for free and let us know your impressions.

I use ONR as my primary clay lube and occasionally as a QD. It's not bad and definitely the best bang for the buck, but as stated previously, it's not as good as a dedicated QD product.
I do like Griot's Speed Shine, and at $34.99 for the combo of a gallon jug, a 35oz. bottle and a sprayer, it's a very good buy. It dries well without streaks, beads well and seems to add a bit of boost to the wax. The next QD on my list to try is Optimum. It's $19.99 for a gallon, once diluted and I've yet to be disappointed in any Optimum product.

I 100% agree with Corey on this!

If you are looking for strictly cleaning ability, than most of waterless washes at a higher concentration will work, but if you are looking for something extra, than a dedicated QD is the way to go. I've tried both ONR and Ultima Waterless Wash at QD strength and neither of them leaves behind the gloss and slickness that Optimum Instant Detailer and Gloss Enhancer does.
