Just wanted to see what everyone uses as a claying lube / quick detailer. I'm looking for something that is concentrated so I can make up 1.5 gallons at a time. I have used the detailer that comes with Maguire's and Mothers clay kit...as well as another well known detailers juice spray that I can't fully mention here. I also tried some DoDo Juice detailer a buddy had, which seemed to work better than the other 3 I mentioned but not sure if they sell it concentrated at the time I am typing this. Still, I am on the fence about those products and looking for some input from the forum members here who know a little better than I do what would be a good product to use that has some good lubricity....

Thanks.

What about Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine? Anyone have experience using this as a lube / detailer?

Yes I do, and Uber out performs ONR.

Uber is more expensive but you need to use less product.

1 Oz per gallon for clay lube Uber
2 Oz per gallon for clay lube onr

8 Oz per gallon for detail spray ONR
3oz per gallon for gloss intensive detail spray Uber

Go Uber you won't be disappointed.

Its the best rinseless wash on the market. And its an amazing detail spray and clay lube.

Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Detail Spray Review

Check out the review u did on Uber detail spray.

Thanks Joe.....Yes Uber seems to be quite a bit more from a pricepoint and normally my next question would be does it outperform that good to justify the difference in cost? I will read review right now. Thanks so much.

ONR here too. Mostly because of availability in my country. However, it performs quite well when called upon :). Price is reasonable too.

I am using chemical guys luber clay lube. Works well and smells great! Phil

Used ONR for couple years then tried Wolfgang Uber Rinseless. Uber is much slicker, the clay just glides over the paint.
Use a Kwazar spray bottle to ensure coverage, could not be happier.

From what I understand, you can use anything that lubricates the surface as a clay lube. So what includes soapy water, ONR at higher concentration and spray waxes.

I don't use clay often. I switched to Nanoskin sponges a few years back and now the way I use them is I clay as I wash. So I wash the panel, rinse it, and then use the sponge with my soapy water before I rinse again. Saves me a lot of time and it works really well. I have seen videos from other detailers who use a clay mitt with spray waxes. Again it saves time because you clay and wax at the same time. So my advice would be, use what ever you feel will be the fastest for you depending on your process. Clay is more time consuming to use, but you can use it during the wash process for sure (I have seen detailers including Larry from Ammo NYC do this) and probably during the waxing phase as well, never seen anyone do this with clay but I doubt it would be a problem.

Appreciate the comments...Just so you know I do have a Nanoskin mitt. I really don't care for it at this point. With clay I can feel the particulates when I move past them and ultimately feel the clay glide freely when I remove them. Something about the mitt, I, just don't feel anything like that. Also I've had the mitt leave a streak on the panel I am working, on a few occasions. I didn't feel I was applying too much pressure, although I am open to the fact that I could have been. I'd like to give the mitt another shot when I decide if I am going to use ONR or UBER and maybe I might notice the mitt working better. Right now clay works fairly well for me and I don't mind the extra time because I'm only a weekend warrior doing my own cars, relatives and friends every now and then. Thanks again.

I just ordered some Uber Rinseless, as well as ONR...No reason to try 1 when I can try both. I'll see how they work out for me. Thanks for all the help guys. I appreciate it.

I use Chemical Guys also. Works very well. I was buying it on Amazon for 14.95 a gallon but that ended.
