There is a picture below of the ankle. It's not horrible, just looks like it was put on wrong. But I give warning if you really don't like this stuff.
sorry if anything is repeated or loopy sounding. On drugs, but wearing off.

Normally play first base. Had to cover left field since one of our guys needed to come out for a minor injury.
I play like 2 innings and suffer a major one.

Running to cover behind the girl playing next to me as the ball came towards her, and I tried to stop as I was moving pretty fast. Wet grass from dew as we were playing a night series, maybe around 9:45 at the time.

My ankle planted, but my body kept going. Heard a loud pop and the horrible look of disgust from the girl next to me.

Dislocated. Bulging the left side of my right ankle. Fractured in 3 places and some light tendon damage.
Had surgery last night and woke up with a cast on it as
its been set back in place.

Not my best of days.
Another surgery in 2 weeks to install a metal plate and about 9 total screws which I'll be keeping forever in there.

Whole thing feels really silly. Will be a while before I can take care of my car again. I'm hoping with pain kills I'll be able to wash it before too long.

That still makes me sick no matter how many times I see it. I've dislocated many things, not fun. I had to drive with the window down once, with my shoulder sticking out it because I could not get it back in socket.

I hope everything turns out ok. Remember to rehab fully no matter how much it hurts.

Yeah keep ahead of the pain with the pills. Since your having another surgery and going to be on them for awhile I recommend getting some stool softners if you haven't already. You will be thankful for them before to long.....

Heh. I have ulcerative colitis. I have plenty of those around for various scope exams and general well being.

Got a little sick this morning from the drug they gave me at the hospital. Probably both that and the pain creeping back.
My percocet just arrived though.

Ouch! I hope you have a full and quick recovery.

Sorry about your injury...
Been there; done that...myself. ("Will you ever learn"?...I've been so lectured, so many times)

First: "I feel your pain" ~ (WJC).

Lastly: "I believe that can be buffed out!"

:)

:awman: Brent!!

That ain't going to buff out too soon!!

I hope it heals quickly and you get back on your feet....:props:

I think 6 weeks after my next surgery (in two weeks, give or take), the ortho thought I'd get a walking boot and be able to do some light walking on it.

That's not too horrible, just disappointing that this happened. Playing softball for a rec center league.....ugh

I agree...:props:

Any injury sets you back and we've all been there. For years I played 3rd base and absolutely loved the position. I sort of miss not playing but I don't miss the injuries...

If I decide to play again one day, definitely sticking to the infield. I was happy at first base, but just wanted to move around a bit more. Now I can't move around much at all for a while, lol.

#### happens. Had some fun in the weeks I did play. My brother-in-law works at the rec center and their team needed people, so my wife and I figured it'd be a good time. It has been.
A little wounded pride as I was planted in the grass for 15 minutes and had to be carried into my in-laws car.

I feel for you my friend. Hope you have quick recovery. I'm laid up with a broken heel right now.

Now I guess the competition has a LEG UP on you hahahaha
But seriously that sucks, I would hate to be broken during the summer. I hope your not in a lot of pain bud. Heres to a speedy recovery mate!

More than pain, it's still like I have a wobbly fragile ankle in a cast right now, littlest movements and it still pops a bit.

Otherwise, the other bummer about this being summer is my leg is so freaking hot with this cast on. Have the AC on as normal, but then our ceiling fans on fastest level to keep the rest of me cool as possible.

Hopefully after the next surgery at least the part of my ankle feeling like it's dangling (even inside a fully braced cast) will go away.

Thats brutal. Don't push yourself during your recovery or you will be regreting it the rest of your life

On a side note USA is up over Canada 5-0 in their softball game playing now on ESPN

I want to wash my car so bad. It's go baseball field dust all over it.

I don't want to leave it like that for 6+ weeks.

Where there's a will, there's a way.

So, I got around to washing the car today. I couldn't let that dust sit on it any longer. My wife decided she wanted a picture of it, as I had her around to hand me things and help out a bit.

She thought it was all hysterical.

It had to be done, it went well.

Anyways, went to the doctor today. Same guy that popped it back into place. He'll be doing surgery on me next Friday to get the bones back together. Said the swelling is down and I've been doing a good job elevating my leg since the the bruising has actually worked up towards my knee.

Got some of my X-Rays from the night it happened.

In this one, my ankle was still dislocated. Shows it to the side of where it should be.

This second one shows that he got it back in the socket. Also gives a better view of the fractures. There's 3 all together. 2 are pretty easy to spot.
