Remove and reinstall Badges

Well you are suppose to use a template. Or eyeball it.

I used 3M double sided tape, even the non automotive one works just fine.

Ive only done this a few times ever on special projects. Fishing line, heat and adhesive remover to remove.
Ive used 3m emblem adhesive with good results. Do not apply the adhesive until you have measured, centered, etc and you can use a dry erase marker to trace it on the paint when you have it where you want it.
Im sure there are better adhesives out there and maybe someone would like to chime in. 3m is gooey and stringy

This stuff looks best, IMO, and does not leave that "fatness" like the 3M double sided tape can.

if its a new car your best bet is to just buy new badges. they come with a template to center the badge and have new adhesive on the back that you just pull the tag off of and install into the template.

If it's a new car....why would you remove the existing badges and replace with new badges?
Seems like the most expensive option

I have removed and re-applied the DENALI lettering from my truck without issue.
I placed tape flush with the door trim up to the bottom of the letters and marked reference points on the tape for where it does on the trim piece and where the letters go.
- Remove tape
- Remove Letters
- Clean Paint
- Polish Paint
- Re-Apply with 3M Double Sided tape
I am interested to try the thinner 3M tape suggested in a previous post as the standard 3M tape makes the emblems stick up above the surface of the paint a little more than stock.
