Lets say you apply your wax with your PC and a finishing pad. Can you also remove it with a clean pad? Now i know you can use a bonnet over a pad, but im talking about just a pad itself. I thought i had seen on the forum where that was how one user did his, but i was wondering what you guys thought?

you might be able to use a non-abrasive finishing pad, but likely would cake up quickly even with dried wax. I think the bonnets are safer choice. I prefer hand removal truthfully as most products are darn easy to remove if applied in light thin coats.

When I first got my Flex I tried removing P21s original with a flat LC blue pad, I hadn't found AG yet and didn't really know what I was doing. As Killr predicted, it did not work well, the dried wax gets in the pad and makes it impossible to get the results you expect. I prefer to use a quality plush MF and remove wax by hand. Removal of good wax is so easy there is absolutely no need for a machine in the removal process (IMO). :xyxthumbs:

I think I am going to stop using plush microfibers and just use the wax removal ones that AG sells. My plush ones are linting like crazy lately... even though they weren't this bad at first. Man... and I JUST missed the BOGO on he wax removal cloths :(

Griot's Garage or the Indigo/Arctic? I like my Supreme 530's I just got though. The 530's have a looped side, unlike the Shamrocks, which I feel helps in removal. (maybe that's why the Ultra-plush Shamrocks linted) Also I'm one of the few that haven't experienced linting from cobra MF's, but I don't use them all that often, so time will tell I guess.

I've seen some pads recommended for this before, that is just a soft foam pad for removing wax, tried it and didn't like it personally so never demonstrated it in any class.

All you have to do is,

Test out removing wax with a foam pad (no bonnet over the foam)

vs

Remove wax with a bonnet over a stiff cutting pad
In both examples, this would be a DA Polisher on the 5.0 to 6.0 speed setting.

And you'll see real quickly which approach works effectively. :xyxthumbs:

This isn't a very good analogy but if you were to place a bonnet over a foam pad and then with your hand rub the bonnet covered portion of the pad over a waxed panel you could remove some wax, if you just used a foam pad you would find it awkward and in-effective to remove the wax.

I am striving to get the Indigo/Arctic once they go on BOGO again.... but I have around 7 shamrocks and all of them lint bad. Weird thing is... they didn't lint that much at first or I was not paying close attention. Now, I just just them for ONR. I will look into the 530's though.
