Removing Aftermarket Paint Job

Hello all,

I had my hood partially repainted which resulted in a poor color match. I have a new rock chip my hood, which revealed that all the repair shop did was spray over the original factory paint. Is it possible to remove the aftermarket paint without damaging the original paint?

NO!!!

Did you pay to have the original paint removed? (Sandblasted) Unless this was a custom paint job it's not unusual to paint over the original paint.

I'm afraid you are SOL.

Find a better shop, and a full strip and re-spray is the best option.
