I have fairly new pant on my Piper airplane. After a trip to Wisconsin, both fuel drains starting leaking gas onto my wheel pants. The fuel (100LL) has a blue dye dissolved in the fuel so you can visually tell when the wrong fuel type has been pumped into the fuel tanks. As the fuel has evaporated, it has left the blue dye on the paint. What is the best way to remove this dye? I have been using GoofOff with some success and it does not seem to hurt the paint, but it takes several hours to remove. Can anyone recommend a better way to remove this stuff?

I have used Duragloss 501 Marine/RV polish with effective results on paint staining and cleaning. I don't believe it contains any abrasives and is a chemical cleaner so if you find it doesn't get you what you wanted you'll probably want an abrasive as Mike suggests as the next progressive step. If Goof Off worked a bit but not completely, DG501 may not do it either. Do you have a machine (PC, Griots, Flex etc.)?

And I'd assume you're gonna get those vents checked! I'd hate to think I'm losing 100LL in flight...especially being sucked out underwing.
