Hello everyone. I have a 2011 Kia Sportage and the 3rd day I had it, I was rear ended. After getting it back from the shop, I noticed that it looks like paint was dripped onto one of the rear wheels. The wheels are typical clear coat painted alloy. Does anyone know of a safe way to remove these dried paint drips from the wheel. I've attached some pics. Thanks.View attachment 8996

Now that is what I would call a "Dripping wet paint finish"... lol... Sorry I know lame! lol...

On to the method of removal...

I have seen similar things and I generally have used clay and a plastic razor then a light compound (if needed for any scratches left by the plastic razor) by hand then wax the wheel...

That would be the best way and safest way IMHO...

Wow! Paint dripping from the spray can!?!?
I would try some thinner on a Qtip and be very careful not to get it onto the clear of the surrounding areas. Follow it up with some polish and sealant

I tried the claying and it didn't even phase it. The drips are pretty deep. The paint thinner idea kind of scares me, but I'm not sure what else to do.

:iagree: I would hold the shop liable for the damage already done and any damage they may cause attempting to remove the paint.

:iagree:I was going to suggest Goo Gone but since it's a new car and it's fairly obvious the shop did it, let them fix it.
