Can anyone tell me what I am missing here?

I accidentally loaded photos not into an album and now that I loaded new ones into the album I cannot get rid of the duplicates (not that I can figure out anyway).

I've been trying to delete some photos but I think they don't allow you to. I asked in Mike Phillips' thread once but no response.

There is a way. I forget how I did it but let me backtrack and see if I can figure it out again.

Ed,

I'm interested to hear what you discover. I tried a few times myself and was unsuccessful...

The time I tried to delete I was told that users can't (all content becomes property of Autogeek, etc. in the rules), but was told that you can ask a moderator to delete.

:iagree: This is pretty much what I remember too....

Well, I guess we can't delete them anymore. There used to be a delete photo option under the edit photo tab that is gone now.

In fact, I sent Mike a PM about how I did it some time ago. For the life of me I can't remember. It may have been in the edit photo options. I am sure that PM is loooong gone!

I do see you can delete the entire album but that is not the best option.

What's odd is I can delete an entire album that I've created but not individual photos at the top level...:dunno:

There's actually good reasons to prevent users from deleting photos, it can derail threads that provide important information to the community. However, it does make it inconvenient when you make an upload mistake.

But from what I can tell, I can permenantly delete (or at least remove from my view) any photos in an album, just not ones that were not uploaded into a album. Not disagreeing with policy, just seems weird you can do one but not the other.

Ok...I was just bringing up as I do when people complain about not being able to edit/delete posts (outside of the 20 minute window) that there are lots of good reasons to prohibit deletion. You could have a thread that has a lot of value to the community and a disgruntled member could delete all his posts/pictures and the thread doesn't make sense any more.
