Removing Scratches from Instrument Clusters

swirls and scratches are covering my instruments cluster (speedo and RPM) on my 2013 Dodge Durango. I think they came from wiping and cleaning. I've done some searches and some said Meg Plasti X and DrWax will remove them. but others said polishing the instrument clusters can remove their anti-glare film. so is there any other way to remove these swirls?

I have used plastx on my personal cars before with good results.
 
Novus makes a three step plexiglass polishing system ... Megs has one also.
 
after using plastx. did anybody notice any glare on the clusters?
 
I have had good results with Meguiar's Professional Clear Plastic Polishes. #10 and #17 I believe.
 
thanks for the replies guys. numerous of them in a timely manner. I think I'm gonna use the plastix. I have micro paint touch up brushes and I'll use them along with plasticx but can use it on certain areas on the instrument clusters where the scratches are? or do I have to do the whole area?

You lost me at, "I have micro paint touch up (sp) brushes and i'll use them along with plastics (sp)..."

Trust me on this, the best thing to do is just but a new clear plastic piece, assuming you want it perfect. That plastic is so soft, everything mars it.

I've polished plastic before and had the best results with Optimum Finishing Polish. I have the Meg's Mirror Glaze plastic polishes and they frankly aren't as good as Optimum.

If the thing is all jacked up, you can improve it. But, to get it defect free in the most scrutinizing of light sources is nearly impossible.

I agree with you. It's near impossible to get plastic 100% defect free once it's been scratched.. If it's feasible to buy a new piece that is the way to go.

It depends on the plastic. That clear instrument cluster plastic is so soft. Maybe because it's in front of the driver and it's meant to bend and not shatter in case of a car accident. I'm thinking that's it. I would order a new one, inspect it at the dealer (as they often arrive with defects), and install it wearing MF gloves.

I replaced many of those when I worked for Ford due to defects from the factory. Ford claimed they were made of Lexan and couldn't be fixed - just replaced (circa 1990s).
 
How did it turn out?

Did you disassemble the cluster to polish it or was it attempted insitu?
