Hello, I made the mistake of applying Ultima Paint Guard to my windshield. It works great on paint... not so great on glass!

Well, today it rained and the windshield wipers did not work correctly. They were loud and even skipped at times. Wipers worked perfectly before the Ultima treatment, so I know it's not a mechanical issue.

So, how do I go about removing the sealant from the windshield? Will it take compounding to remove it?

Yes, compounding should be able to remove any sealant on the glass. Then use Aquapel after it's all clean.

I had the same "problem" once :) an abrasive polish is the only thing that even touches it. I tried every cleaner under the sun with no luck. Even some of the deep-cleaning glass products didn't have an effect. I ended up using Duragloss Nu-Glass and it put a dent in it but it wasn't completely gone. I just let it weather for a couple months after that and then applied some Aquapel.

Ceri-glass might be your best bet if you want it all off right now. You could try an abrasive polish and stiff pad and see if it gets any off. I'd recommend a DA/machine. Concentrated pressure from finger tips can lead to some scratches.
