Well it appears the previous owner tried fixing a cracked tail light, and I'm assuming it's super glue that's below it on the paint.....

I have a replacement tail light, but do I have any options for the stuff that's on the paint? Or just leave it?

Thanks everyone!

You can try wiping with acetone… But DO NOT SCRUB with it….I don’t think you’ll be able to get it all , and get away clean.

I also thought about trying acetone. But I'm nervous that I'll make it worse.

Some have suggested WD-40 which might soften it up.

Hum... I wonder if glue removers like Rapid Remover or Goo Gone would work on superglue... if so, it would be safer than acetone in this case because it looks like it's a plastic part and acetone will melt plastic. If it's only on paint and my eye is deceiving me, then acetone is fine.

Citrus based stuff will not remove superglue…..

Maybe try the industrial strength Goof Off aerosol.

Be very careful with it. Last time I used it, it seeped through my gloves, and I was out for a week and a half. I think by "well ventelated" they mean open doors with a fan blowing the fumes away. A giant well circulated facility apparently wasn't enough.
