Does anyone know how to remove ultima trim and tire guard plus from plastic moldings? The first time I put it on it looked awesome. Then I decided to do another coat. I put it on wayyyy to thick and now there are streaks all over. I love this stuff, but I overdid it and now it looks aweful. It's been on there for a few months and hasn't started coming off one bit. I would like to strip it off and redo it the right way. Anyone ever do this or have suggestions?

Have you tried applying yet another coat? Doing so may even the look.

Good luck. OPC and APC's don't really remove it. Time...tic tock....

I have apc+ but theres no way I can let it dwell or anything. I guess I will try a few different things tomorrow, but it's on there pretty good. I just wish I didn't do what I did because it looks pretty bad now.

Try another coat (on a small section) then buff after a few minutes, hopefully the solvents will soften up the original coat and allow you to even it out.

Not sure how to remove it as I've never had a need. I know Meg's APC doesn't do too much to it as accidentally sprayed it on there once before.

You know the first thing I would try is give it a good vigorous buffing with an all purpose mf towel. Try a Terry towel as well. I think that will do it but if that doesn't work I would next try Matts method.

Jim is right on in my experience. I have tried to remove old layers of it with nylon brush, mf towel, ARO, griots rubber cleaner, and OPC. None of them touched it!

However that was on layers that were applied correctly and were very dry to the touch.

Matt has a good idea. Try that on a small section. You can try some of the spirit methods as well but they can soften or stain some plastics.

I haven't used prep-sol but if Bobby says that is safe for this I believe him. I would try it on an inconspicuous spot first though just to be sure since it's plastic.
