Clayed the mustang for the first time since having it detailed in December, assuming they actually clayed it. The wax was failing so clay and wax was called for.

I plan to polish/correct the car in the coming months but really dont want to clay it all over again to remove the wax. Anyway around this or is clay the only way to go?

In a month wash it as best as you can then do the baggy test. If you feels contamination then you have to clay it again. But it'll be a really fast cause contamination would be much lesser.

First off claying doesn't remove wax but Griot's has a product called Paint Prep you can use after washing to remove anything left over, then clay to remove any remaining grit from the top surface of the paint, then polish out the paint and use your wax/sealant as an LSP.
