Residue on wheel barrel

took sticker off wheel barrel of rim and now its all black from brake dust. thought i had it all off...what can i use to get it off without damaging finish of rim?

Pretty much any bug and tar remover or Goo Gone. As a side note I found a Goo Gone spray gel that smells alot like Tar X and works great. Its also a bunch cheaper
