Just acquired an 04 F150 and all the exterior trim is badly weathered, gray and white in color. How do I restore it to looking new again. The bed trim is the worst. Keep in mine it was hardly ever washed. Help is greatly appreciated! Feed back please

I hear a lot of good things about Mothers Back to Black

scrub it extremely well with the Mothers HD trim cleaner kit or a scrub brush and a strong APC.

then, wash it well to make sure all residue is gone.

as the last step, you can get it coated by a pro with Opti-Trim Restore for a more permanent fix or i have had success with a product called Meds Renu Pro, a cheap DIY product. People tout Solution Finish as well, which i belive is available at Autogeek.

Back to Black doesn't last.

:iagree:
The prep work is what makes it a restoration and not a quick fix.

I did the trim on my wife's cars and washed it several times with APC and then did a light polish before using a final paint cleanser polish. My LSP choice was DLux from CarPro. Around 4 months and it's still going strong. It has the looks and ease of cleaning which I like.

Solution finish, don't do all that cleaning for a silicone product.

For just a quick trim refresh I use sonax polymer net sheild from time to time. Used it on my personal vehicle to test the durability and seems to hold up fine on trims although I know its not its intended purpose. Wurth regional rep gave me a sample product the other day so I tried it.. Initial application went on smooth and seemed to work great. It's more or less a black permanent dye then a clear coat like a lot of the products are. Haven't tested lasting duribilty as of yet but seems to have fixed the faded trim issue on the Jeep I applied it to
