I am a part owner of a used car lot. Four months into it, I'm still learning the ins and outs of proper detailing. Right now we have an 87 Wrangler that the soft top has seen better days. I'm good to go with the fabric cleaning and weather treating.

How I can recover the faded and scratched window sections (clear soft plastic) of the soft top? I've got DA's, rotary's and a good selection the pads on tap. Thanks!

Novus was popular when I owned a jeep.

For $400 you can get an entirely new top with windows.

Novus is pretty horrible. Didn't fixed any of my woes on different type of plastic.

I just know it was really popular in the jeep groups. My windows were always fine with normal cleaning.

87 likely is gonna be very worn if the top didn't leak would really surprise me too. A new top is gonna be your best route initially

You can wet sand and polish. I have done many plastic windows. Clay bar first to knock off dirt. Tape off edges then carefully wet sand with 2000 grit. We use a water based compound with a wool pad. Then follow with a foam finish pad. Finish off with hand wax.

I wouldn't have thought that technique would work on soft plastic, windows.

Kudos, for going outside the box.

Does anyone have pictures of this process?

I look forward to the writeup! Thanks everyone for the responses.

megs 205 will clean them up and make them presentable by hand or machine.
