I was wondering if it was possible to retrofit the old MTM foam lance intended for gas pressure washers to the new version intended for electric washers.

I already own the gas version but didn't want to spend the money to buy another one.

Doubtful, the internal machined orifices in the brass fittings are different sizes.

I too was curious about the orifice size when I set up my electric pressure washer with a foam gun. You can damage the pump by using to small an orifice but you will only decrease efficiency by using to big a one. Have you tried it on your electric pressure washer? I found Menards.com sells a kit of brass adapters to convert your electric to use quick connections so you don't have to use the wand extention. http://www.menards.com/main/mobile/...style-brass-adapter-set/p-1505956-c-10113.htm

I have no problems attaching it to my electric pressure washer. I just saw some reviews that showed the foam quality was better using the new version. In my experience, the foam i get is slightly better than the gilmour from the hose but not thick like some videos.

I use DG 901 with RO water with a 3 PPM TDS at 1700 psi and get a nice soapy but wet foam using 1 fl oz of 901 to a bottle. I think the videos with lots of foam are using low TDS water or very soft water. I purchased the less expensive italian foam lance (lower pressure) and 1700 psi is the bare minimum, I get an uneven distribution of foam when I set it to fan, not enough to worry about.

Yeah, the hope was for a foam that had better cling. The stuff that comes out now will mostly drip off after 1 minute or so.

DG901 is a great soap for bucket washing, not so much for a foam cannon. I have used 3oz of it in a cannon with about 3k psi and dismal results.

To get great foam try a soap specified for as a "foam soap" ie. DP Xtreme Foam, CG Honey Dew Snow Foam, etc. You will get the results your looking for. I can get dwell time of about 5 min with these soaps, and produce foam however thick I want. The thicker you apply the less it will dwell though.
