Method of Application and noted Observations: I tested this product on 2 different vehicles of opposite extremes as shown below
#1 (Skybaby - clean well cared for leather)
1Z directions say to apply with a lint free soft cloth. I suspect this is due to the fact you are cleaning as well. On Skybaby the leather was already quite clean so I applied with a foam pad. This was partly out of the habit of using my lexol and cleaning first. From what I saw on the following vehicle, next time I will do as directed. In any case it wasn't a problem at all. I shook the bottle up good and applied about a 1/2 dollar size amount to the pad. I spread this across the drivers side seat in a circular motion untill there was no longer thick enough to see any white and the seat just looked moist. Then I moved on to the seat back, between the two and behind the seat. At this point it had been a couple minutes so I took my CLEAN MF towel and thoroughly wiped the first section down taking special care to get in the creases and against any stitching. I like to switch to the side with a long nap when dealing with the stitching. Then I continued onto the doors, steering wheel, shifter knob, and finally the passenger seat. I only did one half of the passenger seat initially so I could take a before/after picture. Difficult to see much difference on Skybaby's leather but it looks a little more moist. Definitely very easy to apply and remove. It leaves the leather looking clean with a slightly higher shine.

After eating the turkey dinner my wife made I finished the passenger seat on Skybaby and moved outside for the second test.
#2 (Saturn SL with old sad neglected leather)
I applied the lotion as directed with a terry cloth. After only a few rubs it was quite evident I was going to have to call in the calvary. I ran into the house and grabbed my Vinyl and Leather scrub brush. I hadn't had the pleasure of using it yet and and knew this was the perfect opportunity to try it out before I could let it rub all up on Skybaby. I put some more lotion down and scrubbed the section. It was so filthy I got the hose out and cleaned my brush and cloth. I applied about a 2x cap size of lotion and scrubbed that 10" x 18" section 3 times. Unfortunately the mosquitos started eating me and it was getting dark out. I could tell it would take that whole bottle to get the leather on this car clean so I decided to shut it down. I wiped the dirty lotion off the area and applied a thin coat with my cloth. After swatting at mosquitos for a minute I wiped off the slight excess and snapped a before/after picture. Sprayed off the rag, towel, and brush. Threw the towels in my snappy clean bucket and came inside.

Before
Call in the Calvary
Half/Half
Half/Half Closeup
Pros:
1.- Easy to apply
2.- Terrific 1 step application (Cleaning and Protecting)
3.- Cleans stitching nicely without leaving any residue
4.- A good cleaner for something that seems to be engineered to protect
5.- Soft but not too slippery when finished
6.- Because I had heard conflicting reports I went back and checked just now to see what kind of scent was there after a few hours. I would say it has that new car kind of smell to it.
Cons:
1.- Price in comparison to Lexol is certainly the downside
Additional Observations and/or Summary:
1.- When caring for heavily soiled or neglected leather use a dedicated cleaner first. It's not that this doesn't clean good but any reasonable person would agree that it is a total waste of money to use this in a situation where you will be applying it multiple times in order to clean the surface. The Lexol cleaner 1/2 liter or maybe the DP Total Interior Cleaner http://www.autogeek.net/dp340.html (I haven't tried the DP yet but Mikes review looked like it's just what I needed for my #2 (Saturn SL with old sad neglected leather). By the way, that leather brush is great!
2.- If I knew for sure that this was better for my Skybaby's leather then Lexol then there is no question I would never go back to Lexol. As it is there is more contradictory information out there about caring for leather then there is for any other part of a vehicle. I will continue to use this product and Lexol switching between them every other time. I think new observations in the future after further use may sway me one way or the other.
3.-I have to apologize for having to use a flash in all the pictures because of how dark it was. The flash makes the black leather look not so black... By Christmas I will have my shop lights up
4.- Oh, I looked up the definition and purpose of Methylisothiazolinone: A preservative that protects a product formula from bacteria, mold and yeast in order to maintain product quality and performance.
5.-I'm going to make a couple calls and will add info to this asap on the last 2 ingredients.
6.-She puts the lotion in the basket! Sorry, I couldn't help myself - Later
Here is a little of the manufacturer info:
1Z Einszett Leather Care is formulated to specifically address the care and maintenance of finished leather. Its gentle formula utilizes special cleaners and natural waxes to clean and condition the surface to prevent cracking and maintain leather’s natural luster.
