Picked this up along with 3D Liquid Leather at my local 3D store.

I decided to put up against a forum favorite in Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant (WETS) on the cowl of my daily driver.

Product description:

Thick polymer protectant designed to restore and protect the original look of bumpers, trim, and rubber molding.
3D Trim Care Protectant is a thick polymer fortified gel designed to restore and protect the original look to bumpers, trim, and rubber moldings for up to 3 months. It is the perfect product to use on your vehicle to lock in that new original look. Why spend hours shining and sealing your paint without taking care of the small, but important trim accents? 3D Trim Care Protectant will give that “icing on the cake” look to your vehicle’s trim that can dramatically take it to a higher level of detail. A car with faded trim will not look sparkling sharp even though it may have been cleaned and waxed. Therefore, we are proud to have trim protectant in our car care product line to give the detailing enthusiast the final touch for a showroom look.

Nourish and protect rubber gaskets & weatherstripping by treating them with 3D Trim Care Protectant. It will even bring back that great original look that many older cars have on their interior trim such as vinyl door and dash trim. Relax knowing that this product is extremely gentle and will not promote cracking or a drying out effect. Lasts up to 3 months when used as directed in most environments.

Trim Care Protectant is 3D’s solution to protecting your exterior trim from the ugly appearance of the white wax marks. Just simply apply before polishing or waxing and you’ll block out any pesky residue from attacking your trim. This product also prevents further damage that results from the sun’s harmful rays as it has built in UV blockers that will stabilize your hard work from further deterioration. This special formula will make your faded windshield wiper arms and cowling black as if they were painted. For best results 1st clean with 3D’s Orange Citrus Cleaner or All Purpose Cleaner to lay the groundwork for that long lasting shine.

Fortified with UV blocking polymers designed to retard the harmful effects of the sun preventing it from fading and drying out your trim. Relax knowing that with regular use, 3D Trim Care Protectant will keep your precious trim looking its very best for decades. Don’t replace expensive trim when the solution is available in this easy to use protectant. You can quickly and easily bring back faded textured trim simply by applying this amazing protectant.

3D Trim Care Protectant makes it easy to get bumpers and cladding shining again in a jiffy. This product will not only bring back the original look, but it will also preserve your recently cleaned areas from future grime and dirt buildup. I could not get a good photo of it on a yellow applicator as it is clear. It is a gel consistency. A little product goes a long way with this one.

I cleaned the trim with Meguiar's D103 APC+ and a brush. I taped off an area of the trim that will have nothing on it to see how well these perform side by side. 3D on the left and WETS on the right.

Side by side both darken the trim. The appearance between the two is about the same.

Here's another 50/50 on another piece of trim under the hood. This was prepped the same. Looks good on the textured trim as well as the smooth piece which is like a very hard plastic material.

A full shot of the appearance on the cowl. It was catching the sun so it was hard to get a good photo of it. But it looks good.

I also put both products on my wiper blades. This is painted black metal. WETS looks good for about a day or two but it doesn't last long on it. I don't know what happened to WETS on this area. It's as if it didn't bond and disappeared into my microfiber after lightly buffing the area to remove some streaking.

Thoughts:

To early to tell on durability but this will be a long term showdown between the two. 3D states it lasts about 3 months. If it does, this can give WETS a run for it's money. It's a clear gel product which I really liked. It has no scent to it. A little goes a long way. Application is effortless with a foam applicator. It dries to the touch and is non-greasy. Being that I applied it to the cowl, some got on the glass but I had no issues getting it off the glass.

So far it seems like a really good product. I will post updates monthly to see how both are doing. Hopefully it is carried here on Autogeek.

Here is a one week update after a 2 bucket wash today. I used Meguiar's Mirror Bright Shampoo to wash the car. I will let all of you be the judge. I was a bit surprised at how much 3D has faded in 1 week. I do not see 3D lasting up to 3 months based on today's observations. WETS is looking good.
