Hello there all of you detailing geeks, I must say that I have learned a lot from this forum, from techniques for product applications, and not to forget tons and tons of professional review posted.

Now being living in a country with tropical weather, where it precipitation and humidity is average high all years, pairing with hot sun is certainly not fun when it comes to keeping your car in good shiny status. Watermarks form easily in this kind of weather. What I am going to show is my ride detailed and Opti Coated since 2009, and maintained by me myself weekly using ONR or OCWash, and if I have time I will top it up with OID too. When the condition permits, I do also use waterless wash like Opti Clean just to clean up the light dust.

The entire car is Opti Coated including side windows and rear windscreen. The front windscreen was recently stripped and re-coated with Opti Glass Pro. Windscreen is usually cleaned with DP Glass Cleaner/Pinnacle Glass Cleaner/Opt Glass Cleaner along with Cobra Glass Towel. I will just switch each cleaner by week.

And finally, any comments and critics are welcomed. Thank you for your time and patience.

Firstly, a shot of the engine bay. I admit it wasn't entirely sparkling clean as it shows. The trims and engine cover are protected with Opt Leather Protectant.

And a frontal capture... Not too bad for a 4.5 years

Any comments or critics are appreciated on the reflection and condition

There are 3 cars captured in the reflection

And finally the overall look as it sits

Wow! I've been thinking of putting Opti on my ride and I think you just convinced me to go that way. :dblthumb2:

Not sure how to attach videos, but this is the video URL. It shows how the water rolls off with me using a Makita Blower.

Thank you for your kind words. I certainly would continue to go with it with my next new car.

Beautiful car.
Excellent gloss.
Pillar shot is very artistic.

How many miles (km) on the vehicle?

:dblthumb2: Thanks for the update :dblthumb2:

Very nice. Are you in the Philippines? Why are you using Opti Leather on your engine plastics? Car looks great for 4.5 years without polishing or sealing.

Looks good. Got any videos of the water beading/sheeting? Curious to how it reacts after 4.5 years.

It is currently 73,000 KM rounded

Nope, I am in Malaysia. And cause don't really want to spend extra on engine dressing. The Opti Leather works fine.

Check out the videos posted above ^^... Sorry for bad quality though.

He posted a video above ^^^^

:)

I mean spraying water on the car, not blowing it off with a blower.

I just tried to take some photos of water beading when sprayed on, as well as sheeting after I flush it with a bucket of water.

Can't really take a good video due to no one helping to hold camera.

Water beading shots, taken when I sprayed some water over the car with a garden hose.

And now the water sheeting (after effect), I just fill up a bucket of water and pour it over to make it sheets.

That's what I was looking for. Great beads and sheeting! Nice to know that stuff really does hold up.

Definitely the way to go if you want to "set it and forget it" :dblthumb2:

Definitely appreciate your kind comment sir.

4.5 years in a tropical climate is pretty impressive.:xyxthumbs:

Definitely... I am glad that I picked this over the others nano-glass coating offered here.

Yes... More like I know it will be there to protect the paint, while I still can try out other sealants as toppings without worrying too much.

It's nice to see a thread that isn't right after the product is applied. I've always found it almost amusing when somebody puts up a video right after they've applied their LSP showing how it beads water. Six months later is a better review and this one 4.5 years later.

Just thinking out loud, but if a polished hood was cleaned with ONR wouldn't it bead and sheet from the polymers?

This is what I always wonder about coatings. How do you know the coating is still there, or if polymers from a wash product or a QD are just causing the paint to bead?

If one were to wash their car weekly with ONR and wipe it down after with OID wouldn't it bead all the time? I know this is the case with some products, like Sonax Brilliant Shine Instant Detailer. That stuff beads better than most waxes and lasts quite a while.
